I imagine she was just trying to find a seat
she saw one next to you and went to get it to bring it back to where she was sitting |

She was waiting to ask a permission to get a chair as you were on the phone.
If you like her have you considered striking a conversation or even asking her out? |

I agree with everyone's thought above. Don't let that discourage you, though. Maybe she likes you, too. Were you literally talking on the phone? Or just looking down at it? If the latter, if you didn't look up, she may have thought you were ignoring her. If you were talking to someone, she surely didn't want to interrupt you. I definitely don't think her intentions were bad.

Some times people interpret quiet and shy as rude or standoffish. I agree with the others. Try speaking to her in the future. It could be something as simple as smiling and saying "hello"

She either wanted you to talk to her or she wanted to ask you for permission to take that chair. When you ignored her, she took it and left. That's all. Perhaps give it a second try next time 😉 __________________ Complex trauma Highly sensitive person I love nature, simplicity and minimalism |

Well first we have to remember that none of us can read people's minds. Especially when all I know about this girl is from what you wrote.
But if I went to get a chair, I might want to make eye contact with the person sitting there and ask if it was ok if I took the chair. If you were staring at your phone and not looking up, I might have felt like you didn't want to talk to me. That's the way I feel when people don't make eye contact. |

I looked up but I was too shy to look at her so I looked at the wall. So then she just got the chair and left. But she knew no one was going to sit there so why was she asking me if she could take the chair

I know sometimes people don't look me in the eye because of shyness. But it is often interpreted as rudeness. I've had people think I'm rude before for the same thing.
I don't know if she would have necessarily asked about the chair, but she might have said something if you had seemed open to communicating. |
