Hello. I thought about the forum and how threads are Community created but then took a step back and wondered, Who created the Original threads(General, Mental Health Support)? And did they create more main threads as time passed? Have main threads been removed? Can users recommend new main threads to be added? is there a section that possibly explains all of this that I have glanced over?
Side question, Does the forum update instantly when making a new thread or commenting on a thread? Thank you. |

I have been on PC since 2004....it looked very different then. Many LESS forum area topics to post under, no social groups & chat format was much different. Everything was a much simpler platform.
Doc John changed to a new platform around 2008 & was able to start adding & expanding & it has just grown from there as requests for more specialized areas of interest came to him. There may have been another platform change but it was not obvious to the users. All my posts from my beginning here are archived. It has been quite an experience to see PC grow & expand, go through some rough times & adapt & meet more people's needs in the area of mental health. Hard to explain some of the growing pains unless there to experience it. But the success truly lies in the wonderful admin, moderators & volunteer support this site has along with the growing vision Doc John has had through the years __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. Is there a way to see all of my posts? I can only go back so far.

To look up any of your own posts, or threads, choose those options. I was able to go all the way back to when I started here, in 2012. You can also use Statistics to look up other Member's posts, get a feel for what they tend to write, and who they are in general. Hope this helps. |

Also, the forums have evolved a LOT since I first found this place. But the general atmosphere hasn't changed that much. It's still very safe, tolerant, and friendly. It's not as lively as it once was, but it's still an awesome location in which to find support, acceptance, and great advice.
Many new forums have opened up since 2012, and there's a heading for just about any topic I can think of. I imagine they came about by making suggestions to moderators, who forward it onward for acceptance/ approval. Under GENERAL Forum Headings (the very first page of the Forums, like a Contents page), there's a tab for Community Feedback & Technical Support. I imagine you can find out more by perusing those topics, and asking questions there. Welcome to Psych Central! |

I'm just popping in after a long, long absence. I don't know if the technologies have changed, but there was once a lot of traffic on this site. Folks don't seem to post at the rate they did a few years ago. Maybe people have developed other outlets? I hope all are well.

I guess the best answer is look at the last page of threads.
