I’ve messed up again. I have been using kratom daily for half a year or more, and my doses have gotten way out of hand. Kratom is a plant powder that works on opiate receptors. I’ve increased the dose to the point where I consume so much plant matter to get well I feel nausea and generally sick that overpowers the feeling. It’s an extremely expensive habit as well. Any suggestions for how to quit this. I work 3 days on 4 days off so I have that on my side. Also have been trying gabapentin. But taking gabapentin all day I’m constantly tired, I feel hungover like I can’t move the next morning since I haven’t taken kratom either.

Well... at the risk of stating the obvious... my thought would be to discuss this with your medical doctor. I've taken myself off of antidepressants in the past often without my psychiatrist's input. I simply worked out a gradual reduction schedule for myself using the pills I had. And that has always worked out for me.
I'm not familiar with kratom. So I can't say anything specific with regard to it. But perhaps the best way to proceed here, short of seeing your doctor, is to simply begin using less-&-less, over a period of time, until you either get off of it completely, or reduce the amount you're using down to a manageable level. I suspect the one thing you probably don't want to do is to try to go off of the stuff cold turkey. I wish you well... __________________ "I may be older but I am not wise / I'm still a child's grown-up disguise / and I never can tell you what you want to know / You will find out as you go." Hi, well I am/have used both. I currently am trying to get off of gabapentin and the only thing I can suggest to you is that you don't do any more gabapentin, it is really hard to get off of. The kratom - well when you feel sick is when you have taken too much. As the kratom community says - less is more. The best information I have found about kratom is on reddit.com and search for kratom. The one sub that is just "kratom" is the one you want. On the main page you will find a sidebar on the right side. There is a LOT of information to glean, how much to take, how often, how to take, what strains for what problems, etc. Have you been changing strains? You may want to try that first, along with a smaller dose. Also, kratom is not expensive when you order from a reputable vendor. You can get 25 grams for about $4. Good luck!
