Hello all. I'm just wanting to introduce myself and share information. And please use wise judgement on whether you could use the resources if you are also on this journey. I just wanted to share what has helped me
I've been on and off psych meds since I was fifteen. I'm working to come off of my most recent bout of taking various meds for the last six years. I'm glad I have support here and look forward to sharing the journey with others. I stopped my meds "cold turkey" in February (!!!BIG MISTAKE!!! I had heard of relapse of symptoms, but I didn't know that withdrawal was possible) after issues with side effects and struggling with taking them indefinitely. I went through terrible withdrawal for three months! Thank God I made it out of that okay. Any who, since then I've learned about a couple of really helpful resources, and I thought maybe someone else would find it helpful along their journey. One is kellybroganmd.com. She has helpful articles on tapering off of antidepressants. The other is at willhall.net. He has a free ebook/pdf called Harm Reduction Guide to Coming Off Psychiatric Drugs. Another beyondmeds.com has helpful articles on nutrition, withdrawal symptoms, and preparing for coming of the psych meds. Lastly, withdrawal.theinnercompass.org has healpful articles about withdrawal symptoms that others have experienced. Blessings |

I'm glad you made it through! Thanks for mentioning these resources. I'm not on psych med's any more (or any other kinds of med's either for that matter.) But I know getting off med's can be a challenge for some people. Hopefully the resources you mentioned can be of some help to them.
