I’m currently going cold turkey off Abilify and Prozac. Needless to say I feel nuts. Its been about a week and depression/anxiety are at their worst. I do t have a dr I can talk to about this. Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

Hello Whiskeypoet: I believe this is your first thread here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral.
There appears to be a typo in your post. It reads: "I do t have a dr I can talk to about this." I presume this should have read: "I don't have a dr I can talk to about this." I'm afraid there's not much of anything I can offer you in the way of advice with regard to this. You really needed to taper off of your med's gradually... especially if you've been on them for a while. (If you can't see the doctor who prescribed the med's, perhaps there's another doctor you could see?) Since you've already been off of your med's for a week, I don't know what else to suggest. Hopefully other members will have some thoughts they can share. My best wishes to you. I hope you find PC to be of benefit. |

Cold turkey is definitely not a good idea!! There are so many effects, as you're seeing now. Can you see the doctor who prescribed the meds? Or a walk-in clinic? Who recommended you discontinue?
