Hello,

Im tapering off Quetiapine (hightest was 150 but mostly took 50) since January 2017 and Clonazepam (hightest was 4,5mg) also from Jan 2017. Have been taken it since nov 2015.

Now I am at 0,11mg Clonazepam and 3mg Quetiapine.
I know this is already very little but because I took such medication since 2008 on/off I want to do it very slowly.

The 3mg Quetiapine I m taking almost 1 year now because my doc said I should get off of Clonazepam first because I reduce again Quetiapine.

But I really want go gett off these drugs now to protect my liver.

Clonazepam I will go on reducing in 10% steps.

I had severe sleeping issues due to stress and histamine, which is much better in the meantime.

Do you think I can risk something re my sleep if I quit taking Quetiapine now? Or maybe take it only every 2nd night for a while and after 3 weeks or so only every 3rd day.

Or what would you say?
thanks for advice!

Anissa

If it were me, I would talk this over with my doctor and perhaps also my pharmacist. I've tapered off different meds before, but I've never been on Quetipine. Wish I could be more helpful.

HI blukoi,

they all ave no clue or give different advices I d be interested if maybe someone here who maybe went from 12, 5 to 0 , had withdrawal effects or if I can be sure that from this small dosage im on nothing can happen, or at least that the risks to get withdrawal are minor.

thank you for your reply anway.

first i'll say i'm not you i dont know what you feel. but i went from 300 mg to 0 flat out. now i cant function. i feel like a zombie. look at my other posts. why i dont know. because maybe my so called doctor thought he was God ? i dont know ? my feelings now are i dont and cant trust doctors. i would venture to say if you are on 3mg you could go off it for a day and see ? if you feels fine ? go for 2 days and see ? then try 3. do what your body tells you. as for me the last doctor i went to. he did'nt seem to care i would tell him my symptoms and he seemed to ignore me. sure dont say i dont know ? dont say i dont care. so the last time i went. he did'nt say anything that made any sense to me. so i basically told him. F this i'll take my chances with God and out the door i went. he did'nt try to stop me. you thinkl they would have cared enough to call me ? a week later ? nope. so i thought maybe the drugs would flush out of my body ? nope. the damage is done. great ! now i'm a walking zombie until i die. good job doctors ? remember they call it practicing medicine. who's practicing ? you can practice too

Hi zippity-dooda, the sad things is they really dont know at thing. In a way its not even thier fault, because they often get poor informations from the pharma companies.

from 300 to 0 is of course horrilble. if you doc said you should do this, it s really irresponsible. I would at least go back to 100 , hoping that you feel better then, and then stay with it and when you feel really well again, make your way down step by step.

I forgot to take the 3mg dosage weeks ago and did not feel a difference but I heard that one only feels something, Or could feel a withdrawal, after 3 nights without, or 3 nights with a lower dosage, The brain does not notice after only one night without..

I will try...

all the best for you!!

I went from 300 to 0 with no ill side effects. It was like I never took it no issues whatsoever.

Bunnyhabit: thats a sweet suggestion. If they had any clue I would not ask here.

but I will try tonight (what Id id already weeks ago, because I forgot taking it) and from then on will take it only every 2 nd day for 2 weeks. When I feel nothing at all, I will take it every 3 rd day and when I fell again nothing for 2 weeks, I wont take it anymore.

keep your fingers crossed!

msm is for joint pain relief. maybe you just cant grasp what i'm saying. people dont unless they're experiencing the same thing. i dont know whats wrong with me.my brain feels screwed up. but i'm tired of doctors and lawyers. they did'nt care now i dont care. i'm tired of trusting others. they only let you down. they failed me. if you're 21 you wont be able to relate how i feel. when you're 21 you're invincible. these drugs have long term effects but nobody has the responsibility to tell you. thats crap. they dont know but they still take you money. look at my life now ? my body is ruined and so is my life.
