My neighbor came to my door yesterday to tell me his son died on Sunday. We've been neighbors for over 25 years. The son and his son moved to their own home about three years ago. Due to the move, I have had less contact with them both as we are no longer next door neighbors. I saw them once a week or so, not daily like it was before.
I feel bad for the young son who now wants to live on his own. He doesn't have a job or a drivers license. His grandpa and grandma (my direct neighbors) want him to move into their home for stability. His birth mother was a drug/alcohol addict and the dad was award custody to the child. At this point all the child's teeth were rotted, which led to speech problems. The young man is very amiable, but needs constant assistance if left with a task to complete. I'm worried that it may be better for him to live with his grandparents then to live by himself or have his girlfriend move in with him. He seems so innocent. I don't want to see him taken advantage of. Sorry if I seem to be rambling.......... |

Thanks for sharing this difficult situation. It's hard to know what the best course of action might be in circumstances such as these. For this young man to move in with his grandparents may or may not be the best idea. But it may be the better of the options that are currently available to him I suppose. You know the family. So you'd have a better idea of what might, & what might not, work out I would surmise.

Bluekoi, I am sorry for your loss. Even if they are not staying beside you anymore it can be like part of your world melts away.
The younger son sounds like they need support to get along. Hope they get it. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |
