I met my husband and we are 15 years apart. I love him more then anyone in the world. At first, I did not think too much about the age gap. I should have thought about his opinion on age before I asked him to marry me. I don't know if he really loved me. It was weird getting old with him because I felt his age upon my shoulders. I was confused and lost for a long time. He sensed this distance between us. Now, I grieve everyday for losing my husband.
Now that I lost my best friend, I have lost all of my close friends. I am so lonely and detached from everyone. I get angry and emotional around coworkers. I have tried the dating scene again. I can't find anyone that is even close to him. It is very sad because I never knew that losing someone can be so difficult. I have lost several special people in my life and it takes so long to forget. I should really date people around my age. I blame myself.

Hi Stillness06. I am genuinely sorry for the loss of your husband. It seems we appreciate people more when they are gone. I do not know why that is but I guess for me I tend to take things for granted. And then when they are gone, I feel the emptiness.

I found when I was grieving seriously I could not get involved with other serious relationship. It was all I could do to take myself to yoga class or exercise class where just being around people helped.

They have support groups that I found helpful. If you are old enough, senior centers are great people to make acquaintances and enjoy people's company.
