and I'm devastated.

She was one of the finest and most caring doctors I have ever known. She worked at the same hospital where I worked many months ago. She always had time to help and encourage those who worked with her, and she was particularly devoted to getting her patients well again.

I'm crying.

I'm sorry for your loss. that colleague really sounded devoted to what she did, and that is exactly what you need.
