They are not dead yet, but I was told a few days ago that my father has stage 4 liver cancer and my grandmother is experiencing heart failure.

I don't know what to do. I've been waiting to cry but nothing comes. Just numbness.

Dear PreciousQueen,

How utterly heartbreaking! I can't even imagine what you must be going through. Wish I knew what to say that would help. My heart goes out to you and your family!

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen

I’m very sorry to hear this, it’s very difficult to go through one close relative having a serious illness, but two is pretty rough. Take care of yourself and visit with your dad and grandmother if you are able to.

I will.
I regret every moment I haven't spent with them.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Try to spend some time with them while you can. Also don't beat yourself up for not spending enough time with them in the past.

@PreciousQueen I am sorry to hear you have two people you are close to that are facing grave medical challenges. That must be rough to get hit with that. Go easy on feeling guilty. There never is enough time in my experience. I just have to let go of things I considered unfinished business. With my dad, I spent time with him even when he could not talk telling him how much he helped me and reminding him of the good times we had. Hearing is the last thing that goes so I could see in his eyes that he heard me.

I'm sorry for your hard moments, the most hurtful pain that could somebody experience and go through it, is to lose one of the parents, how about two at once! How about if the parents their presence represents everything meaningful and gives a meaning to this life?!
I hope that they will overcome the sickness and that u will pass as much possible time with them,
Hope we hear good news from them very soon
