I try to change my lifestyle but when I do I feel overwhelmed. A bit about me I have social anxiety, ocd and severe depression, sometimes I say to myself ok Nows the time to turn my life around. Eat healthy, have healthy good looking skin, have a shredded body, follow my religion. the first step I do is follow bodybuilding diet to get shredded and you have to eat every 6 meals a day small proportions of course and have to wash my face 3 times a day and pray 5 times a day and read Quran. And go workout everyday. At the end I feel stressed and overwhelmed. I want to be the best version of me I don’t know if this is something to do with the ocd being a perfectionist but I don’t know where to start my family and my psychologist tells me look you’re not super man. I just don’t know how to set goals??? Help me and have you been through a similar experience???

Well... I used to do this from time-to-time years ago when I was younger. I never ended up being successful at it. Now I'm just too old to care one way or the other. Personally I think one key may be that one can't try to change everything all at once. It's just too much. One has to pick one or two things to work on, achieve some success with those & then gradually add more.

Here are links to some articles, from PsychCentral's archives, on the subject of goal setting & achieving goals:

I'm deffenetly like this

set myself lots of things to do, get overwelmed, and don't do any of it in the end- and it's a great shame.

what helps me a lot is rooteen

in sted of saying, well today I'm going to do this, this, and this (I don't know what time but I'm going to do it), I give myself time scales

from 10 until 11, I'm going to clean the house

from 11 until 12, I'm going to catch up on emails.. that kind of thing

it might also help to give yourself variety- set a diffrent thing for diffrent days

I think one of the things (I find especially), is if you're doing the same thing day in and day out, you just become unmotivated and you don't do it

Can you just take little steps at a time? The best version of you actually changes from day to day. Some days you might have the energy and motivation to really push it out and get all those things done... some days you just won’t. Your best is just what you’re capable of in this moment. Give yourself credit for that. ❤️

thanks for this post.

a while ago I subscribed to this bipolar mentoring service, and one of the reasons I subscribed (as well as to talk about my feelings with someone who's been their), was actually to talk about my guilt about not getting things I should get done on certain days

and she said the same thing as you just did then

so thanks
