Default Sugar habit

Hi all,

The amount of sugar that I consume is, well, over the top. As in...all day long. I'm really fit and my height and weight are proportionate. I have a Body Mass Index of 23 but I am a sugar junkie.

Yesterday, I had only one sugary snack. Today I am trying to make it through the entire day with none.

Anyone else kicking this habit?

Yes, I'm trying to cut down on my sugar, too. I had 4(!) cavities at my most recent dental checkup. I've cut out ice cream and tried to stop eating sugary snacks after dinner. I've cut down on juices, too. I've been trying to eat fruit whenever I get a sugar craving.

I am also trying to lower my sugar intake; my weakness is soda.

I have a strong inner knowing that sugar isn't good for me. It increases my tension and tiredness when I am already tense and tired. It's an avoidance of the real need to connect and listen compassionately to myself.

That's how it affects my PTSD disorder. I don't mind other people enjoying sugar at all. I do get peeved at Xmas when people feel the need to force chocolates at me even when I've said that I don't like them, lol.

For me, it's like getting regular sleep. I have PTSD and the only way to cope with that is to observe what helps and what hinders my physiological stability.

I did have a small piece of cake today, but then I looked at all the sweets in the shop, took out a packet, and then decided that they wouldn't make me feel better.

I'm addicted to coffee but I'm not tempted to give that up because it's PTSD neutral.

I'm obsessed with sweets, I don't even want to know how much sugar I consume, it's a scary thought. I'm in a normal weight range for my height also but I know it's still unhealthy. I'm trying to make them an occasional, in moderation thing.
