And doing weird things with my mouth, like expressions. This is not an issue where it’s involuntary, I can control it. However, I get anxious if I don’t do it I’ve been like this for most my life. It’s like a constant tapping of the shoulder until I do it.

What is this, am I just prone to weird and bad habits or tics, ocd, etc??

Side note:
Btw jerking head meaning a headbang type head jerk but less dramatic.

Well, of course, we here on PC can't diagnose you. Since you're a 5+ year member you presumably already know that. (I'd probably be a 5+ year member too if I hadn't closed my account 3+ years ago.)

I suppose what you're experiencing could be a form of OCD or perhaps just a symptom of anxiety. Anxiety is something I've struggled with quite a bit over the years. And I know, from personal experience, that unrelenting anxiety wears on you & can cause you to do, or experience, all sorts of odd things. (I've had a bunch of them over the years.) But it would take a mental health professional, I would presume, to really get to the bottom of what's actually going on in your particular case.

I don't know if you have a meditation or perhaps progressive relaxation practice or what you do for exercise. But I would think one thing you might do, if you're not already doing it, would be to adopt the various practices that are recommended for anxiety. It needn't cost you anything. But then if it doesn't help, or doesn't help enough, you could pursue what's going on with you with a psychologist or mental health therapist. At least these are my thoughts with regard to your post.

Here are links to 3 articles, from PC's archives, that may be of some interest:
