So I finally took a serious dose and I definitely felt something but what I felt was absolutely bad. I basically felt like a truck hit me and absolutely couldn't sleep. I have always experienced panic different than other people and usually it feels like I have the flu. This is exactly what this felt like. My heart rate went up.. and I had a night of fitful sleeping. I am just going to have to stop for the moment. So far I am having zero good effects. Only bad. Everyone talks about the "high" but I truly don't seem to be experiencing that. So far if I have had any effects it just feels like headaches and trouble sleeping.

I decided today to take the dose during the day. I think it does make a difference. When you are in bed or sleeping there are a lot of symptoms that might not be noticed. For instance today I have feelings like being dizzy when I moved my head (something you don't do in bed) and I definitely had like the shakes and inability to do things like type. I also got very cold. Something I might not notice under the warm comforter. All of that being said I am just very surprised at the way edibles make me feel -- mostly like I am sick and have a fever.

I continue to really really struggle with this.

I have been taking an edible dose every night at bed time. I *thought* I was getting used to it... and working my way up. But the other night I took a dose (the exact dose I had taken 4 nights before) and it had a strange reaction. It didn't help that it was bad weather and I was awakened by a hard bang when my storm door was blown open by the wind.

But I got back to my bedroom and I had severe anxiety. I could not sleep for 4 more hours and I felt just horrific. Shakey etc.

I can't tell if there was a dosing issue with the edible or if it is a situation that if you fire up your nerves on pot you can't fire them down easy.

So I purchased a vape pen and cartridge. I don't know what I am doing with this and I find it hard to find directions (the pen didn't come with directions) but I took one draw off it (in error -- I was just trying to see if it worked) and I can't really tell that anything happened at all.

I feel like everything I do... takes time to really get good at it..but I have been doing this for over a month.

Maybe some people just aren't cut out for drugs. Is that possible? I mean in my normal life almost 99% of prescription drugs that I take do not agree with me.

Medical mj just happened in my state. Are cream and edible the only forms they have?

No. I keep trying different things.

I have "vape" but when I got my vape pen the charger was broken. Though I got some charge I have seen a few people say you need to charge it for two hours or longer to get it up to the proper heat.

Wednesday I am heading back to the dispensary and I will try a tincture. Which is like a drop you put under your tongue.

I am scared that in the end I will have to smoke it to see any results.

The only thing i will say is that I do feel when I take the edible I do feel like I sleep better. But I can't tell if it is that or sugar (which helps me sleep).

What works best for me is smoking it,either a joint or a bowl. The stuff is so potent though that I start out with one good hit and give it time to see how it's going to affect me then smoke a little more if needed,

I prefer smoking over any other form because it makes me feel I'm more in control of how much I use.I don't like vaping because I can't really tell how much I'm getting,I don't care for edibles because it's not an enjoyable high for me.

Why are you scared of smoking it? Maybe try getting a small bowl, put a small amount in it,take a good hit off of it and see how it does?

I don't want to do it because of the smell and because of smoking. I currently have pristine lungs.

Thanks. I vape eliquids. I have not found the vape pens to be very useful as they don't seem to last long. I bought the Aspire Skystar Revvo vape device. If interested you can google it and see where they sell it. You get big clouds of vape with it and you do have to replace the coils about once a month. I think it's best to take it to a vape store and they tell you how to use it and the coil. The batteries need charging about once a day depending on how frequent you use it. You can get the coils online too and there are some places that sell 3 of them reasonably. I would use it if I got mj to vape. I paid about 101.00 for it and batteries at elementvape.com. It is a long lasting vape device. I really like it and it's the best one I have found so far. I wouldn't have paid that much if I didn't want a vape device that is lasting and effective. I hope I don't sound like a commercial but I've been really happy with it.

I am qualified to get medical mj in my state but it costs a lot to see a doctor and get the card and everything plus there is not a dispensary that is close to me as of yet. I'm waiting for one to open in my area. I hope you get some good results.

Thanks. I went to the dispensary and they got me a new cartridge.. it was expensive. But it just didn't work. I mean on the one hand I didn't feel anything, and I took 7 hits. But on the other, I felt like a truck hit me the next day. I do get this "hangover" when I over indulge. So I happen to think that is it. But I didn't feel anything at all different.

I am about to give up.

I will say I have been eating like a pig since January and I got on the scale today and only gained 2 lbs. I can't tell but it is at least a sign that maybe this does have a slight effect on weight control.

My take
I used to smoke all the time as a teenager. Get high, hang out, grab some munchies, go to bed.
Now I want nothing to do with it and I'm only 36. By the time I was probably 26 I was having issues with it. And not just smoke. Edibles too. Brownies, cookies, candy. For me it comes with paranoia, upset stomach, restlessness, a kind of underwhelming anxiety if that makes any sense.. I have anxiety and pot does not relieve this for me at all. I live in Maine and medical has been around for a while, recreational is legal now and CBD is everywhere. I'm very interested in that because it doesn't have the psychological effects and I could use some pain and anxiety relief. Expensive tho..

Thanks. I think I am absolutely done with it. Or done with edibles. I might try to smoke it over the summer but last night I took some, not even a lot. Within about 2 hours I was kind of wide awake. But then I noticed and was bothered by what sounded like a bizarre noise. Like thunder but not. Like in the distance someone was lifting up dumpsters and banging them down.

I noticed that no one else (neighbors ) seemed to be up. I literally live out in the middle of no place. Right next to a large conservation land which backs up on a farm.

What could it possibly be? I thought.

I took my pot at 8 PM and this noise seemed to back down around 3 AM.

So today I asked a few neighbors -- no one heard it. I couldn't sleep WITH A LOUD FAN ON, and they couldn't hear it?

So I looked up Auditory hallucinations and sure enough this can be a side effect of Marijuana. We will see if tonight I hear the same thing but man -- this is now like the 4th or 5th sleepless night since December because of either anxiety or something related to Marijuana. Just not worth it.
