Sometimes I think I’m ready for bed I become sleepy take my medicine for the night lay down and become awake.
I don’t know if this is Due to the medicine or due to the fact I can’t tell when I’m tired enough to sleep. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what I can do to sleep better . By the way I do not currently go to school and I have a job at the moment so I don’t really need to get up on a daily basis at the same time . I am in the process of trying to get a day program for autism . |

I know it's time when Seth Myers has finished his monolog. I go to bed between 11-11-50 every night, take my meds and read a short time. Most nights my meds let me fall asleep. I don't work or have a daily schedule either but I've found that going to bed at the same time and doing the same routine at night helps.

I wait until I start yawning and feel really sleepy. It takes awhile for sleep meds to kick in for me.

There are 2 ways I know when it’s ready for bed:
1. It’s a work night and it’s after 8:30. 2. just get randomly tired all of a sudden. There’s no working through it when I’m that way. If my favorite show is on I’ll just record the rest of it. No matter what time it is if I get suddenly exhausted I have to get to bed. I got suddenly exhausted at work last Friday and I had to keep myself from literally napping on the floor. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

I always just retire to my bedroom at 8 PM and watch tv in bed. When I feel like sleeping i either close my eyes or turn over with the tv still on.

I have a very strict bedtime routine that I implemented due to terrible insomnia. I used to take all sorts of sleeping meds but as an alcoholic in recovery they no longer were an option. I wont bore you or hijack your thread about my sleep training but specific to your question I go upstairs where my bedroom is at the same time every night. I take my night time meds about 15 min before that. I take Geodon and my doc had told me years ago that it needs a little bit of digestion to get going so I will take them with a small snack like some crackers or a clementine. Once in bed I read for about 15 minutes (yes its my phone but it doesnt bother me) then I turn my phone on silent and upside down and lay there and close my eyes. 8/10 times this works and I am asleep in a total of 20 minutes.

Its important to only use your bed for two things sleep and sex. Do not lay in bed before time to sleep because your body gets used to that rest even though it isnt sleep and it makes it hard to fall asleep. Try not to take naps. Reduce noise and light. Try to go to sleep and wake up the same time everyday even if you dont have to.
