For the past few days I’ve had an uncontrollable twitch in my left eye. Its been pretty constant. It’s been more annoying then anything else. But now I have a slight headache behind that eye and it’s still twitching. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this or what it could be?

Are you still not drinking coffee? I used to gget that twitch when i didnt get enough sleep. Also i have a very mild form of epilepsy and since i started taking topamax, i dont think ive had the eye twitch thing. But i was also taking ambien, and i usually get plenty of sleep now. But it was always not enough sleep for me.

I’m trying not to drink a lot of coffee but I’m still drinking about one a week. I am on topamax. I’ve been exhausted these past couple days because of this whole possible narcolepsy thing. I’ve had a few other symptoms that I’m hoping doesn’t mean I have a neurological condition. I’m having slurred thinking and trouble swallowing and leg pain/pins and needles.

I’ve also been on my period for 3 weeks and it’s just getting heavier.

Muscle twitches are terrible... I sometimes get them, and they seem to last forever (days, at least).
I find that if I take magnesium and potassium supplements when I have a twitch, it helps. Not immediately, but usually the twitch disappears that day. For potassium, try a banana. It looks like (just googled it) - it's got about 400mg of potassium. The supplement that I take is only about 100mg, so the banana has a lot more (and is probably a lot cheaper!) Re: the 3-week long period, please get it checked out with your doctor. You're not at the age where perimenopause is kicking in yet, right? (I.e. you're not yet in your 40s?) I had something similar happen awhile back... and someone told me that at 3 weeks, you're no longer having a period, you're having "abnormal uterine bleeding". It might not be anything serious, but worth checking out and seeing if there's anything that might help. *hugs* Hope you feel better soon... sorry you're dealing with all this stuff! |
