I'm trying to learn more about being vegan but the info I find from googling seems fragmented. If you become a vegan then it's important to learn what to eat. Vitamin B12 is a 100% must, but that's not all. Yes plenty of vegans have become unhealthy but it's because they don't consume the minimum required foods. So it's important to do your research which is why I'd like to join a community of vegans. Surely if you hang out in a vegan community you'll eventually learn how to be a healthy vegan.

I know there are people who boo hoo vegans saying you can't be healthy unless you eat meat. You'll learn that's definitely not true if you do your research. There's scientific research that shows the average vegan is healthier but the problem is that a percentage of vegans don't eat the required foods or supplements. I know a lot of people also boo hoo supplements, and it's true that certain vitamins don't help much but the scientific research clearly shows across the board that a lot of vitamins make a big difference in health, especially in helping to preventing deadly diseases such as cancer.

Please post vegan social sites if you know of any.

Also post what you've learned about being a healthy vegan. Here're a few brands I'm planning to buy:

VEGAN OMEGA 3 by Nested Naturals
Amazon.com: VEGAN OMEGA 3 – Better than Fish Oil | 60 Capsules of Algal DHA and EPA | Plant Based Brain Supplement, Maintain Cardiovascular Health and Quality Prenatal Omega-3 | Vegetarian Fatty Acids Supplements: Health & Personal Care

or

Vegan Omega 3 by The Veggie Doctor
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0164SLU8M...v_ov_lig_dp_it

Deva Nutrition Vegan Vitamins Daily Multivitamin & Mineral Tablets
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCWTVP5...v_ov_lig_dp_it

Deva seems to have the important ones including iron except omegas and K2, but K2 is not required in a supplement because it's found in abundance in vegetables. Omegas are taken separately or just eat lots of ultra low mercury Alaskan Salmon, canned is also low in mercury. Stay away from Albacore due to mercury. Studies show that the Alaskan fisheries do an amazing job and have ridiculously low mercury. You could very well get more mercury drinking a can of Pepsi than eating Alaskan Salmon.

Last, if you know of any well balanced vegan recipes that's known to have all of the required nutrients then please post.

Quinoa is a vegan "complete protein" and full of vitamins, including omega 3s. After searching Amazon this is the brand I came across if anyone's interested: CEREAUSLY Organic White Quinoa in Bulk | 10 Lb | Restaurants | Wholesale | Bolivian | Royal | NON-GMO | Kosher | Gluten-Free | Vegan
by Cereausly

Another amazing food is Chickpeas, also a vegan "complete protein" and full of vitamins.

"Complete protein" means it has all 9 proteins in sufficient amount comparable to meat.
