My neck hurts and has been damaged by car accidents. My doctor referred me to physical therapy. I need help. I don't really know what they can do for a neck but I'm willing to find out. It's starting to affect my shoulders.

I got an xray done. The chiropractor I work for does treat me, says I need twice a week, but my neck is very hard to adjust. I stiffen up. Thought between the two I'd get some relief.

Yes but she has a tool as well, usually she tries to massage/stretch my neck and adjust it. Feels good but I cringe at the adjustment part. My brother suggested muscle relaxers to let my body fix itself and those I can get from physical therapy. The chiropractor said that might work too.

otherwise you may want to look into a machine called Pro-Adjuster! i didn't like manual adjustments, especially when they couldn't get it on the first try. and yes, i would cringe and tense up too! but my chiropractor uses this machine and i love it. i sit still and the machine does everything for the chiro, he just guides it & tells it what to do and where!
just a thought. hope things get better for you soon & good luck

Physical therapy, when done consistently, can be immense;y helpful.

Sorry you had an accident. When someone rear ended my vehicle it was a very sad day for me. Other than the rental car to look forward to, I was in pain, getting over shock and totally couldn't believe what happened. Luckily, the accident wasn't too bad and I didn't need to see a doctor. I wish you a successful recovery in whichever healing path you choose. Stick with it.
