Today I’m stressed and it’s cold and windy outside so my kips are chapped, and my lips were bleeding some. Not sure if stress is causing me to bite my lips in frustration.

I am sure you know the importance of chapstick or vasoline/blistex. The best way to heal it overnight is to get an aloe plant. My store sells big aloe plant leaves. Smother your lips over and over with the aloe from the moment you get home until you go to bed. Do not eat the aloe. They will be a lot better in the morning.

Also, be sure you are drinking enough water. Also, not sure what your med situation is, but definitely some meds can exacerbate this. I deal with this with what I am on all the time. It starts to get worse this time of year where I live because the humidity indoors goes down (people cranking heaters up) and everything gets dried out. Good luck!

In the UK a skin-friendly and safe lip balm should be free from parabens, phthalates and SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate which is a skin irritating surfactant often found in shampoos), instead containing beeswax which would be a natural skin conditioner and vitamin E to moisturise. I used 'burts bees lip balm' for skiing and subsequently any cold, wet and windy weather in the UK. It's 100% natural ingredients and doesn't cost much. Between £2 and £4, tube or tin and may be available in other countries, too.
There may even be a DIY lip balm online. If you want to try making this yourself, I suggest you look out for ingredients such as cocoa butter, coconut oil, beeswax and almond oil. You would probably need a double boiler. |

Thanks for the tips everyone and last night consciously tried not to bite or lick my lips too much and put Vaseline on lips today and before walked outside on break put lip balm. My lips are better today and did not bleed, phew.
