I started feeling funny yesterday and woke up at about 4 am, absolutely freezing. I piled on extra blankets and then realized they were mostly useless as I was having chills. Also my entire body aches, and I started coughing a bit this morning.
I've been self-isolating since the beginning of March, but am worried I might have caught it from my room mate. Up until 10 days ago, he still had to go to work every day and so was taking transit. Or I could have caught it on one of my infrequent trips to the pharmacy. I have to go to the pharmacy tomorrow, so I'll pick up a thermometer. Think I'll spend the day in bed, and hope that it's just a cold. But I am scared. splitimage |

Dear Splitimage,
That sounds very concerning and scary. Have you contacted a licensed physician for medical advice? I wish I knew what to say that would help. Your health is so important and none of us here would want anything bad to happen to you! I am very worried for you and hope you will be okay. Sincerely yours, -- Yao Wen |

You may be able to get tested, especially if the symptoms continue.
Do stay hydrated, rest, make yourself as comfortable as possible. Yaowen has good advice. Let us know how you are doing. (((((((((((hug)))))))))))))) __________________ "...don't say Home / the bones of that word mend slowly...' marie harris |

Oh split, i am so sorry. Chris Cuomo has good advice, if you can find him on youtube. My personal remedy is hot lemon honey ginger tea. Ginger kills everything.

Do you have a doctor? If you do, give him/her a call. Many docs are doing tele-advising now. maybe you could qualify to get tested even without taking your temperature so you won't have to risk going to the pharmacy. i hope you will be okay.

Thanks everyone.
I spent most of yesterday in bed, and made chicken soup from scratch yesterday. Those things seem to have helped. My sore throat seems to have gone, and while my body still feels a little sore, it's not as bad. I did put in a call to my gp, and am awaiting a call back. I did do the on-line self screening test that the gov't put out, and it doesn't look like my symptoms line up with COVID, so hopefully I was worried for nothing and it will turn out to just be a cold. splitimage |
