I have an achilles tendon problem that has resulted in a horrifically painful bone spur. Does anyone here have experience with bone spurs?

Yes. I had plantar facititis for a year. A YEAR. I went to the doctor and they did an x-ray and pointed out I had a spur on the bottom of my heel. After everything they told me to do didn't work, I tried apple cider vinegar in water for 1 month -- and it went away. I was shocked.

I think that that the magnesium in the ACV loosens the calcium that makes the spur.

At one point I was having trouble with a hip bone that seemed to have the same issue, and the ACV worked again.

Just be sure to drink the acv and water in a straw... otherwise you could hurt your teeth.

That is fabulous! I love acv. I wonder if soaking my foot in it would help, too?

Never tried but I might imagine that could hurt. ACV stings in cracks of your foot and such.

I am not sure the mechanism at work but what I think happens with a bone spur is that you injure the area, your body puts calcium over the injured area to help it heal, either too much is put there or you keep injuring the area -- the body puts more calcium and the cycle continues.

But the ACV (perhaps its high magnesium content) gets rid of some of the calcium and thus it allows your damage to heal. I would imagine anything that helps calcium clear into the bone would help, such as vitamin D, Magnesium, K2, etc. If your not already taking those definitely give it a try.

I have soaked my feet in a mixture of acv diluted with water, but it does have to be quite diluted. Might not be strong enough to have an effect on a bone spur.

As I understand it, you are spot on about how (and why) a bone spur forms. Weird. And I have had issues with calcium deposits in my kidneys and with a rotator cuff (shoulder) tear. Seems my body tends to over produce calcium. So the acv might just be helpful in general.

Your other suggestions are good, too. Thank you!
