Hi! I have cvid possibly from Lamictal. Would love to connect and learn more. I’ve got an immunologist appt in May (two months).
Weirdly though, I’ve been having new severe food reactions and horrific migraines. I stayed on Lamictal too long since no doctors would listen to me as I got sicker and sicker. Instead they told me I was depressed and increased my Lamictal. Curious how it has gone for you? Last edited by CANDC; Feb 21, 2020 at 09:55 PM.. Reason: old thread move to its own thread |

Hello GoldCoast: I see this is your second post here on PC. So... welcome to Psych Central. One additional forum, here on PC, that may be of interest to you would be the Psychiatric Medications forum. Here's a link:
https://psychcentralforums.com/psychiatric-medications/ There really isn't anything I can offer with regard to what you are dealing with. I was put on Lamictal at one point. However I developed what is referred to as Lamictal rash & was taken off of it immediately. Fortunately, in my case, I had been on it for a short enough period of time that going off cold-turkey was not a serious problem. You mentioned struggling with migraine headaches. So here are links to 4 articles, from Psych Central's archives, on that subject along with links to 2 articles on living with chronic pain: Migraines: Your Internal Migraine Environment | Relationships in Balance Migraines and Headaches: Can Therapy Help? Migraines and Relationships Migraine Surgery Eases Pain, Ups Daily Functioning https://psychcentral.com/lib/living-...nd-depression/ https://psychcentral.com/lib/using-m...-chronic-pain/ I hope you find PC to be of benefit. __________________ "I may be older but I am not wise / I'm still a child's grown-up disguise / and I never can tell you what you want to know / You will find out as you go." Hi, GoldCoast, and welcome to Psych Central! I took Lamictal for years and didnt have those symptoms. But I started having neurological symptoms such as having trouble walking. I was told the Lamictal had built up in my body to a toxic level, so I went off of it. So, evidently it can be a problem if taken for a long time.
Please let us know how things are going. |
