More trouble with my ex-husband. I just found out he's been telling our youngest son that I'm not sick, I'm just lazy. I was just diagnosed bipolar 2 and have been unable to work for over a year because of mental illness. I do my best to take care of our youngest, but sometimes it's just not possible. I though my ex had my back, but that's not the case. I don't know what to do.

how old is your youngest? can you explain to him in an age appropriate way that you are sick and not always able to function at your fullest capacity. you dont have to go into details. just saying you are sick and cant always do things others can is enough. you can explain more as he gets older. just do it in a way that he doesnt feel he has to take care of you. it can be a fine line.

I tell him I have "sad sickness," and he seems to understand. He still gets frustrated, though, since I can't do everything with him that his dad does. I had a heart to heart with his dad, and he felt terrible. He's promised to watch what he says from now on. I certainly hope that's the case! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
