On another forum someone just posted about their psychotic daughter and basically how they were going to "check out on her and save the innocent", and try to get custody of the kid away.
At this time her daughter is dangerous and I understand wanting to protect the child, but it's so sad to read about someone who thinks her daughter is a hopeless case and that she should take her child away for good because she can't possibly be a good parent. I take my medications but I'm always scared if I have another psychotic episode and end up in the hospital again they're going to tell my husband to take my kids away from me, or he's just going to want to. |

i can understand your fears. it is a fear of many women with mental health issues. i didnt see that other post but i suspect that her daughter isnt taking the precautions you are to keep herself stable. sometimes there is a limit to what loved ones can watch happen to children before they feel they have to take action to protect. if the mentally ill person isnt taking any action to acheive stability and this is jeopardizing the health and welfare of the child, sometimes action needs to be taken. i imagine, from the wording of her post, it came across as cold and callous and this was triggering. usually if the court sees that someone with mental health issues is making every effort to maintain stability and is no danger to the child, they will not remove custody. take care.

I think your fears are normal for a parent. Even if you do not have the situation, the fear of losing a child is always something painful to think about. do your best to be well and always be positive.
