Hi All,
hopefully I have the right thread. Ever have one of those thoughts, everything is going ok you smile and have a spring in your step and then WHAM you are back to feeling horrible. Your nearing 10 year old boy's head starts spinning and you can see all the makings of that exorcist girl. I suddenly turn into that girls mother & start spewing out all these words. Our problem is he shows no remorse or respect to us. We are fairly good parents with not so horrible punishments that fit the crime yet he treats us as servants to his needs. When he is at school he is the opposite what gives. I'm tired of how he makes me feel and need to not be in the same room as him. Don't judge me I do love him but my heart breaks with his behaviour. thank you for letting me let this out. my husband has been very good but there is only so much that I can off load onto him.

I was wondering what would happen when he doesn't get what he thinks he will get from you? He may have a tantrum but what if you ignore it? He must know that he cannot get his way at school. I would try not letting him have his way at home and not giving in and just see what happens when he first realizes that you are not going to give in.

I have a 10 year old girl and understand. She is an amazing student and athlete and teachers and camp counselors adore her. At home we are starting to see glimmers of the awful teen years to come. She rolls her eyes, thinks I don't know anything, that I'm her servant, etc. Part of that I know is because she feels so comfortable and safe with us. But I try to be consistent and not to respond when she is disrespectful or demanding. It's hard though because sometimes it's just easier to give in.

tell me about Puglife I also have a 7 year old daughter and by the time I'm finished with her brother I'm too exhausted. Yes I say that too it's home and they feel that they can let their hair down because we love them unconditionally but some days.
