I know this isn't a parenting issue but i saw some great results from here so this is what I chose to use, sorry. Anyways my girlfriend's parents have recently divorced and she is taking it very, very roughly. She has just turned 17 and tells me all the time how she doesn't feel safe at her dads house. I have noticed that she has changed over the 19 months we have been together. She used to be a very fun loving person that was shy and timid to the world but now she is a lot more depressed and has an assortment of other medical issues. She tells me that her dad gets in her face and yells at her and that she doesn't trust him. She has often come home to him drunk and passed out. She said that he has grabbed her arm hard enough to leave bruises on that I have seen personally. He often lies to her and she no longer trust him. He also leaves her home alone to take care of her two younger sisters, while he goes out to do other things. I know that's not against the law but it's still not right of a father. She has to go to his house every 3 or 4 days and doesn't feel safe there. At one point she starved herself, wouldn't sleep and was talking of suicide because of the trauma her father has induced. Please someone give me some advice that i can use to help her and a way i can emancipate her from her warden. ~Elkk~
