I know its not a good thing, but its a good thing for me. It lets me leave back all the worries, duties, feelings of fear, inferiority, and about the future.

Then when I'll have my energies recharded I'll be ready to go back in the world.

But strangely enough, my goal is not living outside, its living inside. The external world has nothing for me.

Sometimes IP is exactly where a person needs to be. So it can be a good thing. I've been there twice. I didn't like it either time I was there. But there are times now I wish I could go back. Bide your time & recharge. "The world is too much with us..." as someone wrote. (I don't know who...) I live pretty-much inside nowadays as well. The external world has nothing for me either.

Hope that you find it helpful. I've been IP 3 times, and found all stays really helpful.

I remember, during my first hospitalization, before the psychiatrist would discharge me, she had me go home for one night to see how it "felt" to be home. When I returned the following day, she asked me how it went. I told her it was good to be home; but it was sort-of like re-visiting the scene of a car crash.

Anyway... once I was home nothing was different. I was just back there most of the day by myself. So, after a few days, I made arrangements to attend a partial hospital program. I wouldn't say the program was the most enlightening experience I ever had. But it gave me someplace to be & something to do which, at the time, was what I needed.
