Someone I know really enjoys going to the hospital and is constantly going to the same one every few weeks. She even says it’s a vacation for her. She’s not getting any better because she just likes it so much.
Maybe I just don’t understand the situation. But wouldn’t the solution be to send her to a different hospital? Maybe one she doesn’t enjoy? I know they did that to me when I was a teenager. They’d send me to bad hospitals I didn’t like and make me work with staff I hated. It made me not want to go to the hospital anymore and helped turn me into the functional adult I am today. They also did it with other kids too. If they seemed to be enjoying the hospital too much they’d send them to a different one. I’m not trying to sound naive or anything. But I just feel like this would be a good solution for her. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

Do you think she's faking symptoms so she can go to the hospital? Maybe they shouldn't admit her if that's the case. I would think that would get expensive too.

I’m not sure if she’s faking symptoms or not. They admit her every time though and she stays each time for 1.5 months. I have no idea though how she’s paying all her bills. I’m sure they are very high.

I had an acquaintance who used to call me at 2 AM telling me she was suicidal and had to go to the hospital. When I'd rush over to her, she had packed 2 large suitcases. One with all her art supplies and stuffed animals. The hospital she liked to frequent was very lax about what patients could bring. I would refuse to admit any patient that came with enough stuff for a month's long vacation. I had never seen anything quite like it. When I'm in crisis, packing my art supplies is not exactly a priority. Most of my admissions are with only the clothes on my back because I'm too psychotic to organize packing anything. Some people game the system for attention.

I’m assuming if she says she’s in a crisis even if she really isn’t the hospital can’t turn her away for liability issues. She’s been back in the hospital for a few days. 95% of my hospitalizations were awful. I was in a good hospital the first 2 times. Then I got too comfortable and started liking it too much. And I then got sent to a really bad one after that. It’s what really straightened me out. The only thing I regret about the whole thing is not suing the hospital for abuse because I’m pretty sure I could have gotten a decent settlement because of what they did to me.
