hmmm another thing about SSDI is that you have to have a certain number of (work) points within a specific time limit, not just total overall, just before you're injured etc. I had plenty of points but fell one quarter shy of the time limit (was within 10 years of my industrial injury) so no SSDI for me. I have other insurance covering me.... It all comes out of the same bucket though which is why you can't "double dip."

Glad you're getting some relief. Remember, your benefits are to be paid retroactively to when you first applied, not just when they approve you.

Congrats on getting Medicaid, too! Lately, medicaid has been harder to get in my state, so I think it's a huge deal that you got it!! Yay! Not positive, either, but I do think it covered me when I was receiving services on the other side of my state because they still accepted Medicaid insurance...

Additional governmental aide varies from county to county, but you can also ask your county what other programs they have that can be accessible when you have Medicaid. (e.g. phone services, heating, food stamps, etc...) There are many resources out there that help with where you live. Maybe that can help a little bit.

Have a great day,
