I had my SSDI hearing and was told by the judge that I would hear back regarding whether or not I was approved or denied in six to eight weeks. It has been thirteen weeks, three days and I have not yet heard back. My attorney confirms that it is still pending (in other words, it is not the mail service being slow).

Any thoughts why this is taking so long and/or any encouraging thoughts?

They get backlogged with cases most of the time and some times they need additional information. It is not meant to be discouraging but it was 5.5 months before I heard anything; however, things moved quickly from there regarding the back payment and benefits going into effect.

Do not read anything into the time passing as anything regarding your decision. They just move at a different speed. Hang in there.
