I'm really upset right now. my p-nurse recently switched me to latuda and called it in through express scripts, who immediately charges my debit card $150 for a three month supply. as soon as i saw the charge i called to try to cancel it, but apparently it's too late and I am stuck paying that amount. in the meantime i've learned that there's a card i could have gotten and used at a local pharmacy to get like a $15 copay.
i think it's the last time i will use express scripts. i can't believe there was absolutely nothing they could do to cancel the order when it was placed less than 24 hours ago. whatever money i had left for the week to buy groceries or whatever for my kids and stuff has now gone to these pills. it's really annoying and upseting. __________________

Pay them $5 a month till it's paid and never use them again---but before you pay up find out if there is a way to challenge the payment. (contact the company PR/consumer dept. in writing, registered mail) & tell everyone you know not to use them.
Also, be sure you get the generic, ask ahead of time the cost also---the card should take care of future surprises. I have noticed some on line coupons for meds too. Drug Companies change the cost of drugs on a whim without notice (and it also makes a great deal of difference, even hundreds of dollars, where you get your RX filled) This makes me so angry. I have been caught off guard a couple of times with meds. I'm now in the process of finding lower costs drugs. It is necessary when on a fixed income.

i wish i could take the money back from them and pay it in increments but unfortunately they had my debit card information and took it right away. it was about all i had left in my account. i will never use express scripts again. i started with them for the convenience of the home delivery and it seems to save money on certain drugs, but after this, no way. You'd think they could warn you or something if a copay is that high before they suck the money out of your account and say sorry, we shipped it, you're screwed.
i must have called them four times today trying to fix the situation and they wouldn't budge either. at least at a place like cvs if you show up to pick up your medicine and it's like $200, you don't have to pay and buy it. never again. ironically i just got approved for medicaid too. supposedly when i get the physical bill i can submit it to medicaid and see what they'll do for me. i'm not very hopeful though. i've chalked it up as a lesson learned and a loss, very annoying, but there seems to be no alternative. thanks for listening to me rant. __________________

Latuda has been the answer for me with Bipolar. With Insurance and a Coupon, I have the cost down to $175 a month. for 40mg.

There is no generic which stinks and it makes it so expensive

If you have a fairly low income you can get meds for free from the manufacturer through patient assistance. Even if you are don't meet the exact guidelines (it will be on the manufacturer's website) you can ask for an exemption into the program. I have never been denied asking for exemptions and I have used patient assistance quite a bit over the last 5 years. I have Medicare and sometimes my income is a little too high for the program but they always exempt me in without any problems; I just include a note with the application explaining my circumstances.
