Default About to lose everything.

I am currently In jeopardy of losing both my SSDI and my disability status. Which means Iíll be losing my Medicare. Losing my SSDI is not a big deal. I rarely do anything but work. I donít spend that much money. I had been planning on looking for a second job in January anyways.

Iím terrified of losing my Medicare. Itís the only insurance I have. I have no idea how much insurance costs. I know some people who pay $900 a month. I have a really good pysch doctor and I donít want to lose him. Iím worried about how Iíll pay for my prescriptions. I donít care about therapy. I donít get physically sick so Iím not worried about finding a doctor or ending up in the hospital. Mental or medical. Iím just concerned about paying for my meds. I read a story about a 26 year old man who died because he ran out of insulin. Iím worried about that happening. What do I do? I do currently have a really good team who could work together so I can stay on Medicare but Iím not sure it will work.

Meanwhile all these people on Facebook who donít have jobs are complaining that tommrow is Monday and what is the difference between the weekend and Monday for them? Their comments anger me. They have no idea what itís really like.

Are there any suggestions?

My thoughts are with you. I wish I had more solid advice, but I don't really know a lot about this... best wishes for you.

Check the cost of your meds on GoodRx.

I was told if I lose disability I will still keep Medicare. But of course you have to pay for it.

If my doctor is only like $100 a session then I can pay out of pocket for him since I only see him every 3 months. My mom said not to worry and that I will get my prescriptions.

I am losing everything because I am able to hold down a job and I have been for a couple of years so it is being determined that I am not disabled anymore.

I used to work for a Pharmaceutical company. Some companies will give free medication to people who are really in need.

If you call the Pharmaceutical company and state your case...you may be able to get free medication for your most important medications.

You can tell them this is a temporary request until you get on your feet with the 2nd job.

How about your current bills/debts? When I struggled with my SO's bills, I took a long, hard look at what our options were, and began moving (literal) pennies around to keep a maximum amount of cash on hand on all times.

More cash on hand = more breathing room = less anxiety = more able to concentrate on tackling larger issues.

Honestly, my plate was so full I had to end up making a custom tool to shift bills around and math it out for me. One less thing to worry about.

- Have you considered digital day labor (one-off projects you could do from the home, online)
- (I always hate to recommend this but) would you be open to setting up a GoFundMe to help collect donations to get you through?

I still live at home with my mom. She pays the bills like water and gas and electric and buys a lot of the food we eat. And if I wanted to there are housing options I could move into. Where most of my bills are paid for me. I was offered a spot last year but I turned them down since it would be hard for me to get to work at 6AM since I donít drive. I think thatís what you mean?

I found out though that these hours at work might be permanent and not holiday hours. So a second job may not even be necessary. I could just ask to stay longer a couple days a week or something. I still donít know the SSDI situation. They may not even cut it completely.
