Time to change and buy a new car. I was delivering the papers they normally ask you for giving me the credit: Last payment of taxes, payslip, personal identification and such.
In my case, I don’t have a normal payslip but a document where appear all the details referred to my retirement. Since I had been retired from my job for medical reasons.

My surprise is that they need to have also the document where the medical resolution appeared and I gave it also to them. It seems it’s not enough, they need to know which desease I was retired for.
I don’t mind if I voluntarily want to offer that information but being forced it’s pretty upsetting.
Indeed, that information doesn’t appear in any of the official papers I received, only in my psychiatrist report, that it was previous to my pension granted.
I understand they have to minimise the risk but they already have enough information, they know I have been only retired for my job and I don’t need another person to cope with my daily activities. What else they want?
I’m not gonna give them more information. It’s not a matter of me wanting to hide anything, it’s a matter of dignity.

I don't understand. Who are these people?
Generally, loans are income-based. (using SS statements/retirement checks/…) If you have a pension, the pension check is the information. I do not believe you need to give them medical records. I would check this out. (eg: if in the states find out the regs)

In the United States, I am almost positive this request would be illegal.

First, my apologise in advance, since I may have not used the correct terms in English to express myself in the thread.
I also see it like you both. It must be an illegal thing to ask someone for a private diagnoses when they don’t have the competence to have this information. Neither SS in my country details on official papers I received anything else but the strictly needed information.
Seemly, the guy who is selling us the car offered a possible explanation. They seemly need to know if my disease is physical or phycological because in case of the latter, they need to know the level of gravity so they can deduce if I’m a subject who can face to a debit with guarantee for them.
But, as I already explained in my thread introduction, I already offered them more than enough information when I gave them my SS medical resolution where it states that I don’t depend on another person to cope with my daily routines and the fact that I could do other jobs. Thus, if I’m allowed to drive a car, thing I do it quite well by the way lol, I must not be very bad after all.

Anyway, the seller looked a solution after the conversation I had with him yesterday. The finance company was a foreign company so there might be the problem. The seller changed it to a national company and they approved my papers. So, problem solved.

Thanks both for your insight.

I’d find a car at a different dealership.

As long as your debt ratio is good and you have necessary credit rating there should be no problem.

Be careful, this does not sound right. I hope you are not being charged high interest on this loan...be sure to have someone read the agreement carefully. Is there any warrantee on this car?

Thank you for your concern and advises. It’s a totally new car from the factory and yes the conditions are even a little better with the national finance company.
Today, I kept asking my leadership this morning about the whole thing with the foreign finance company, this time, out of curiosity. I wanted to know whether other clients in my case, accepted these conditions. Since I told him that I saw it illegal. He insisted in the legality.
I don’t buy it, neither under the hypothesis that it was legal, I would take it in. I have my last word in the stuff concerned to me with or without law. The contempt exists for a reason.

Thank you. This was plan B in case this leadership wouldn’t solve our problem.

Sarah, you are very sweet. Thank you.
The problem was solved. I’m in Spain so I got a Spanish finance company that didn’t ask so many information. I guess it’s because they know how things work here and they know that they don’t take any risk with me.

Thank you, sweetie!
