PROS: Muted most, if not all, of my auditory hallucinations. Made me feel more productive, upbeat, and confident.
CONS: around two weeks after I had started, I got very serious side effects and had to go to urgent care.

For the first two weeks, this medication was a godsend and had really allowed me to start improving myself and my situation very nicely. Then, out of nowhere, I started to get many side effects- cognitive fog and confusion, mouth and tongue swelling, uncontrollable tremors and twitches, panic and anxiety skyrocketing, body temperature plummeting, etc. Went to urgent care and of course, stopped the use of the meds.

PROS: Keeps things under control.
CONS: The cost.

Does the trick, but terribly expensive even with insurance. Makes you want to stop taking your meds.

PROS: Helps me sleep.
CONS: None that I’m aware of. 25mg

I’ve tried coming off this medication and my anxiety went up. I settled on a dose of 25mg from 300mg, which seems to be working well. If I miss a dose I can’t sleep.

PROS: helped with psychosis and mania
CONS: tardive dyskinesia and akathisia

I have been taking this medication for ten years and without it, I'm psychotic, and with it, I'm able to live independently and work. I just bought the generic version which is 35 dollars for a three-month supply and will see how it goes. The brand Abilify has been a life-saver. I am doing well and the side effects are minor compared to the benefits. My experience has overall been good. I hope it continues to work and help me stay out of the hospital.

PROS: None
CONS: I had hallucinations and it took me alost 2 months to recover from its use

I had an awful experience with Abilify. I was hallucinating, irritable, ugh it was terrible. I was also taking a mood stabilizer and an antidepressant.

PROS: None
CONS: Drowsiness, Allergic reaction

I was really excited to start this medication because I had heard nothing but good things about it. I can't really say I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else based on my experience because I didn't get to take it long enough to really say... I took it for 2 days, in those two days it made me really tired almost to the point of lethargic all I could do was lay on my couch. On the third day, I had a severe allergic reaction to the medication, fever, hives/rash, lip and tongue swelling, the palms of my hands and soles of my feet felt like they were on fire. Doctor had to call in steroids to counteract the reaction. Never want to experience that again.

PROS: None
CONS: Induced hallucinations, nausea, worsened dissociation

Nope. Nope, nope, nope. I personally don't tolerate even atypical anti-psychotics. P-doc literally said, "You are not allowed to take anymore anti-psychotics." I was on 2.5mg for two days after taking 5mg to two days, and it caused two weeks of NOPE. It's different for everyone, but for me personally, it was an absolute nightmare. Never again.

PROS: Gives you energy.
CONS:

I have had a great response to this medicine. No side effects, and it gives me much needed energy. I recommend it to other bipolar patients.

PROS: Tiny, easy to swallow, helps make antidepressants work better.
CONS: The cost is still prohibitive for some folks.

As soon as I started taking it, my antidepressant (Duloxetine) kicked into gear. After 4 days on it, my energy level increased and my appetite decreased. No side effects that I can tell. Was surviving on samples from my NP, but now the cost has decreased somewhat, and I was able to appeal to my pharmacy for a tier level reduction.

PROS: it works
CONS: none

I frequently order prescribed medicines by americantrustpills (seriously, this place sucks) without danger. Sadly I use to take lots of it so low expense is pretty important for me.

PROS: Keeps psychotic symptoms in check; least amount of weight gain of any of the atypical antipsychotics I've tried
CONS: Miss one dose you're probably OK - miss two, all hell breaks loose.

I order mine from CanadaPharmacy, and the brand I get through them is actually sourced from Turkey. It's the only way I can afford it. Abilify saved my life. I recently was sick with pneumonia and forgot to take any of my meds, psych included, for like 5-6 days - the withdrawal effects were severe and my psychosis returned hardcore, I spent about 3 weeks recovering from the suicidal urges that cropped up and was nearly hospitalized... my advice: don't play loose with taking this drug - and DON'T miss more than just one dose!

PROS: None experienced
CONS: Marked Weight Gain

I had previously taken 5 mg of Abilify. From the first day on 12/23/2013- 01/03/2014 I went from 186 lbs. to 212 lbs. Sounds impossible to me, but that's what all the scales were telling me. Later the same year my doctor had increased the dose to 10 mg. After this change I was extremely depressed, lethargic, moody, and had a raging headache. So I ended up discontinuing the use of this medication. Initially I was hopeful this medication might help, but unfortunately I ended up not being very impressed.

PROS: works
CONS: weight gain,

works good at first, but for me the dosages had to be increased to gain that effect again. was up to 20 mg., weaned myself off it because it made me braindead. take your time going off this drug because it can be very hard. Insomnia. of course talk to your doctor first.

PROS: helped quickly with manic phase of bipolar at low dose
CONS: to many side effects

I started out on 5mg for bipolar. took 5mg at bedtime for 3 days, cldnt handle side effects. Dr's nurse advised to cute dose in 1/2, I did, took 2.5 mg for additional 3 days, still bad side effects (memory loss, severe irritability, etc), so I stopped it all together. NOT a drug for me.

PROS: none for me
CONS: horrible episode

I took this drug once, to help with a major depression. It made me psychotic- I hallucinated, felt like I had bugs crawling all over me, and basically had the worst anxiety attack ever with my heart pounding so hard that I could see it. My dr. calls it an 'allergic' reaction- this drug frightens me to no end.

PROS: Did exactly what it was supposed to but...
CONS: debilitating side effects

Took it for a year and had no problems. Worked wonders on mood swings and rages. After about a year of taking it, made me terrified to ride in vehicles or drive, amplified anxiety and rate of panic attacks, felt 'amped-up' all the time. Got tired of the rush.

PROS: none
CONS: extreme lability of emotions

Doc put me on abilify in addition to Lamictal. I would cry at the drop of a hat like from everything from A-Z and in between. Told doc and she said "Well if you feel that's what's causing it, just go off the abilify" so I did, and it stopped.

CONS: Other than the lower dose med addition, no additional effects seen and it makes you gain weight.

For me, this only helped when used with low dose pristiq. Other than that, it makes you gain weight. I would not recommend this.

PROS: increased will to live
CONS: weight gain, shakiness, dampens sexual appetite, decreased energy

While there are several side effects with this medication, especially when taken daily, it gives my anti-depressant a necessary boost! My pDoc did explain that Abilify has an incredibly long lifespan as the side effects grew and intensified. He advised me to take this medication once per week at his prescribed dosage, to lessen the side effects and that has worked very well for me.

PROS: Abilify
CONS: weight gain, sexual dysfunction, memory problems

I take 10mg three times a day. Doses don't last very long as feelings of anxiety and anxiousness start up after four hours of taking the first dose. Have been taking it for three months

PROS: Made my depression MUCH less severe. It took it down about 95%. Haven't had a manic episode since starting it.
CONS: Mildly worsened my OCD and Anxiety.

I started Abilify about a month ago and WOW. It's been a miracle for me. The first few days I had mild nausea in the morning (I originally took them at night) which I'm assuming was because my blood sugar was low. I just drank a Coke and ate some peppermint candy and was good to go! I changed the time of day I took them to the afternoon and I take the med with lunch and have 0 stomach irritation. The first few nights I had a little bit of restless leg and my skin was extremely sensitive. I had to sleep with minimal clothes on. I also had visual disturbances when I'd wake up in the morning or after prolonged periods of having my eyes closed. I figure it's just the medication making my eyes have a hard time to readjusting to light but it goes away within minutes. It's treated my bi polar and depression BEAUTIFULLY. My OCD and anxiety have spiked minimally but no where near unmanageable and it's definitely worth if for how much it's helping my other problems. My depression made it hard to get out of bed and I was always exhausted. Now I have a lot of motivation to do things and am not at all a zombie. My main concern was I'd lose my personality but instead of just a happier, better version of myself. It's also helped me gain weight. I'm 5 foot 4 and was 86 when I started and am now up to 92! I'm hoping my weight will keep going up! I refused help for 6 years (I'm now 21) and I'm kicking myself for it. This drug is amazing. The side effects weren't bad at all and it's helped me out so much. Would definitely recommend.

PROS: It was covered by BC Health Care and it did not give me a sedated feeling
CONS: Weight gain of 25 pounds over 3 months

My husband noticed that my mood became stable but in a negative mode where I was highly irritable all the time. I gained 25 pounds in 3 months and then returned to my previous medication. I have stopped gaining weight. My doctor does not believe that Abilify and weight gain are connected but I can't help but think he is wrong.

PROS:
CONS:

I can recommend a reputable pharmacy (Abilify) - 24tabs (seriously, this place sucks - do not buy from them) I received the order and it was on time and the pills work great.

PROS: moderates delusional symptoms
CONS: restlessness, formication

I take Abilify for my delusional disorder, and it moderates my symptoms very good. But the side effects are so bad, I have to eat prescription drugs to moderate them (I become very, very restless and get formications)

PROS: Boosted me depression medication and put me over the top.
CONS: Cannot handle more than 10mg

In 2001 I found out I had Hep C. The drug for that was called interferon. It caused me to become severly depressed and bipolar. After 7 years and aroud 25 different drugs in different combinations I became somewhat stable with 300mg's of Effexor CR and 200mg's of Lamictal. But my bipolar was bad. My doctor added 5 mg's of Abilify and it changed my life. I felt great again and had no side effects. After about 3 years we had to raise it to 10mg but I feel better than if have in 11 years. Abilify was my mirical drug that gave me my life back.

PROS: None
CONS: Hallucinations, Insomnia, Memory Loss

I started to hallucinate 3 days into taking this medication, having bipolar disorder does not typically make this happen. I was seeing people and "Zombie" like creatures and couldn't drive alone. I was afraid that my daughter was going to turn into some weird creature and eat me. This medication is no good. I would do something and 5 minutes later I couldnt remember what I had done. Sleep became even worse, as I am already an insomniac I was not sleeping AT ALL, which was probably making the hallucinations and memory loss worse. I would NEVER ever recommend this to anyone! It's been a little over a year since I stopped taking it and am just now starting to feel normal.
