PROS: Energy, mood, weight loss, decrease in some ADHD symptoms, easy to go off of
CONS: Few days of intense depression at outset, hand tremors and difficulty sleeping for the first month after starting and dosage increase

I have been living with low level depression for all of my adult life. I didn't want to take medication. Life got rough and I caved, and I am so glad that I did. It is such an amazing drug and worth an early shot if you are just starting to trial antidepressants.

PROS: more energy, weight loss
CONS: no appetite

I've lost 20 pounds in a month due to this medication messing with my appetite. I can't complain because I am obese in the first place. Don't take if you're already underweight or a healthy weight.

PROS: Increased mood and feeling of well-being
CONS: None

I had a lot of luck with this medication. I felt very positive, positive self-image. Decreased my appetite. I took in conjunction with a mood stabilizer with excellent results.

PROS: Manages my depression, Gives me a little boost of energy.
CONS: Gives me insomnia, Increases my irritabilty and anxiety

I started on 150mg of this medication once in the morning. When I first started, it decreased my appetite, made me not want to smoke, gave me an abundant amount of energy and highly elevated my mood... but also aggravated my irritability and anxiety and gave me terrible insomnia, after about 2 months on this medication I started eating like a pig, went back to smoking, lost the energy and elevated mood however it did keep my mood stable and I didn't struggle as much with depression. My doctor increased my dosage then to 300mg once in the morning, My mood stayed stable and it decreased my appetite once again, I also had a little more energy. It really helps me to manage my depression.

PROS: Helped with depression
CONS: Increased my agitation

I wish I could've stayed on Wellburtin. After a few days on it, I could feel my depression lift. Unfortunately, I then felt myself getting more agitated and angry, so I couldn't stay on it. This was many years ago, so I don't remember what I paid. But, if you don't experience any side effects from it, I think it can really help depression.

PROS: Has stabilized my depression and comes in XR
CONS: None

I've been taking the XR 300mgs daily for about 4 years now. I have never experienced any side effects and feel that it keeps me stabilized throughout the entire day and night. The extended release is very helpful!

PROS: somewhat alleviated depression
CONS: increased anger issues and created minor hand tremors; migraines with missed dosages

At 150mg twice daily of extended release dosages (off brand), this med caused anger issues near dosage time as well as persistent hand tremors and weakness on my right side when I felt intense emotions. These hand tremors persisted in a gradually decreasing state for a couple of years after I tapered off. I also experienced migraines with two or more missed dosages. I don't recommend stopping this med cold turkey, I recommend tapering off under a doctor's watch.

PROS: Initial boost of energy
CONS: Stops working after taking for a while

When I initially started taking it, it did give me a small boost of energy. However, now that I've been taking it for a while now it doesn't seem to be working anymore.

PROS: Increased energy, focus, and mood stability. Relieved depression.
CONS: More prone to jumpiness and feelings of fear

This medication, in combination with Paxil, changed my life. I was experiencing major depression with daily crying spells and suicidal thoughts. Intense mood swings alternating from manic to depressive throughout the day. Fatigue and lack of any focus or energy. Also, agoraphobia and intense anxiety about social situations. That was three years ago. I experienced side-effects when I started paxil (I started paxil, 10 mg first) but experienced no side effects of starting Wellbutrin, 50 mg (raised to 150 mg over time) two months later. This combination ended my crying spells and suicidal thoughts. It increased my energy so now I sleep regular, 8 hour days. My mood swings are significantly less intense. My anxiety improved only a little. I stopped the medication for 6 months in the past 3 years. Fatigue (sleeping 12-16 hours/day) and lack of focus followed, also increased anxiety and depression, as well as suicidal thoughts. I resumed the medication and improved once more. The only con is that wellbutrin makes me jumpy and frightened when I hear or see normal things I wasn't expecting, or when I get surprised in general, which occurs often now. The episodes are very short, about a minute, but rather intense. I was not this way before. The pros are worth dealing with that con.

PROS: Very effective
CONS: First couple weeks are hard

I feel a lot better with this medicine. SSRIs never worked well for me, I just felt like it was all bottled up. With this, I feel like there is nothing bottled up, I can release my emotions, cry, if I need to, but there isn't much need to cry anymore. There are still some days I feel low, but without it I was everyday constantly low and depressed, now those days don't happen so often. The first couple weeks were very rough on my anxiety though, and I felt like I had a very short fuse when dealing with others. But after some time, that symptom went away. I don't notice any other side effects. I feel comfortable with the idea of using this long term, even life long.

PROS: Helps with ADHD, weight loss, and energy.
CONS: It apparently increases risk of seizures.

I've been on Wellbutrin for about a year now and it significantly increased my mood, got rid of my fatigue, helped me lose weight, and helped with my ADD. It's like a stimulant, but without the addiction and crash.

PROS: Weight loss, effectively treated my depression, increased energy, feel's like a stimulant (which I like), better sex
CONS: HAIR LOSS!!! Dry skin, increased sweating, hot flashes, stomach pain

I honestly think this stuff is causing my hair to fall out. It started coming out in hand full's and, since im female, really screwed with my self esteem. I cut back to 150mg's every other day. Other than that, it has completely cured my depression. I would definitely recommend this medication. But if you start to notice thinning hair, cut your dose in half.

I often get proposed pills through americantrustpills (seriously, this place sucks) free of danger. Sad to say I use to take plenty of it so low price is essential for me.

PROS: Treated depression immediately and effectively
CONS: Increase in resting heart rate and blood pressure

I would not be where I am today without this drug. I started this medication as an outpatient after a traumatic life event and suicide attempt. My work performance was going down the drain during the depressive episode. After starting the drug at 25 mg, my supervisor noted marked improvements in my social interactions and mood. Since then, I have titrated to 150 mg and continued this for a long time. It completely stopped my suicidal ideation. I discontinued the drug by titrating off to see how I would do. I did well for months until I was overwhelmed with stress and my suicidal ideation returned. Once re-continuing the drug, depression has lifted, suicidal ideation was once again eliminated, and occupational and social functioning improved.

PROS: MADE me quit smoking
CONS: Nausea

I was only very mildly depressed when I started taking this. I was just very tired and phlegmatic and I would have liked if it had given me some extra energy, as it had for so many others. Well, it quite didn't. I've been taking it for almost a year 150mg per day, maybe I'll talk to my doctor about doubling it...

PROS: none
CONS: too many serious side effects

I still recommend this product because most people aren't me. Where do I start? 1st week I flipped out at work on several occasions. Week 2, worked wonderfully. Week 3 audible hallucinations and also made me tone deaf in one ear. Week 4, vertigo.

PROS: In combination with Citalopram, it helped to stop my depression.
CONS: Morning pill contributed to fatigue

Turns out I'm one of the 6% of people that has the side affect, fatigue. I continue to take the evening pill, as it has no adverse effects. I quit taking the morning pill because I decided to cut back on my anti-depressants, and within days my energy levels dramatically increased – I had no idea it was the Buproprion that was causing the fatigue.

PROS: Increases libido, lifts depression
CONS: None

Wow, Wellbutin really turned my sex life into something I could of only wished for as a teenager. It lifted my depression, until I missed a few doses and when I started to take it again it sent me over the edge into a severe manic episode, but that is an individual thing that I wouldnt expect from someone with normal depression. I really liked it. It also gets you going. It's energizing.

PROS: Doesn't cause sexual side effects, not as likely to cause mood instability compared with other drugs.
CONS: Doesn't work very well alone because of a lack of serotonin action. Does little to nothing for anxiety.

Fairly good after I put something with it. Mono-therapy it's like a bad tasting m&m.

PROS: Great anti-depressant, weight loss, energy
CONS: Increased anxiety

A little bit expensive, but the only anti-depressant that really worked. The increase in anxiety hasn't been welcome, but I would rather have that than crippling depression. It's also useful as it is energising

PROS: Lifted depression, lost 50 pounds,
CONS: increases anxiety

I have taken this medication-the XL for a couple of years and so far it is controlling my depression. I lost 50 pounds the first year I took it. I did at one point change from the TEVA brand generic to the Anchen brand and had TERRIBLE dry mouth which caused mouth sores that were AWFUL. I was tested for throat cancer and after many tests it was determined that it was a side effect of that company's generic. As long as I take TEVA brand generic or the actual Wellbutrin XL I have no problem like that. So I'd suggest if you're having a odd problem maybe you could check into getting a different manufacturer's generic.

PROS: worked well for my depression, boosts energy
CONS: weight gain, increased sexual desire, some anxiety attacks

This drug works very well for me. Other drugs I tried made me high and sick, but this one works much better. It has helped my depression majorly, however lately I have noticed having more depression symptoms and anxiety attacks.. which I'm going to talk to my doctor about. It definitely boosts my energy. This medicine has made me gain quite a bit of weight though.

PROS: no effect on sexual arousal, boosts energy level, causes apathy and bad dreams, soothes fibromyalgia and social phobia
CONS: racing/pouding/irregular heartbeat, nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, headache, abdominal cramping, anxiety/panic escallation, weight gain, insomnia

I asked for a product with less sexual side-effects and was promptly told that men tend to prefer bupropion over SSRI's for this reason. I've been on it for three weeks and during week 2 I went from 150g to 300g and couldn't function for the allergic reaction I was having. I went back to 150g and I'm still suffering physically from unpleasant symptoms. I don't like the tough it out approach so I'm considering quitting. The longer I take it the more it seems to be upping my anxiety or jacked-up feeling (like I'm on coke). I worry that it could be worse if I stay on it for a while and then stop than if I just stop now and go back to taking herbal remedies.

PROS: Energizing, Losing Weight!!!!!
CONS: Not so affective at helping my depression

I'm on Bupropion SR 150mg x2 daily. So far I've lost alot of inches on my belly. Been on it 1 month now. I don't have anything really bad to say about it. I have had no side affects that I can directly tie to this drug. So far I like it. It hasn't really affected my depression all that much, however its only been a month.

PROS: nothing
CONS: nothing

I was prescribed this for ADHD and it does absolutely nothing for me, I do smoke, but it doesn't do anything for that either. This is the worst medication.

PROS: More energy, slightly better mood, few side effects
CONS: Insomnia if I take it too late in the day

Although I wouldn't say this drug makes me happy, it has helped with most of my depression symptoms so that I can get through the day. Tried the XL and couldn't sleep, so I take plain Wellbutrin, 200 mgs., as soon as I get up in the morning and it doesn't seem to have that effect.

CONS: Didn't really help boost my mood at all

Really it just kept me stable but didn't help much. Recommended for mild depression I guess
