Is there hope? We're both Bipolar, although he denies that and refuses meds, he's a narcissist and I'm the empath. Typical love story. My question is about NPD rage. Does it escalate as people age? I feel like it is increasing in frequency and severity as he is approaching 60. Is there some part of a narcissist that sees himself losing his luster as he ages? His anger is global, but also directed at me. He picks on every fault I have and goes from mildly grumpy to enraged pretty quickly. Ugh. It is so hard to keep loving him. He doesn't even believe that I DO love him! Why would I stay! Why would I stay? Why would I stay. Anyway. What am I looking at here as far as the future is concerned. Does untreated mental illness get worse?

It's certainly not likely to get any better with age.
