hello,

I'm looking for any good apps to help with my compulsions or "habits". I suffer from trichotrillomania and other body focused compulsions. I'm a very self-conscious person to begin with so being a guy with no eyebrows brings me a new level of anxiety. I'm at the point where I half-jokingly tell my wife I'm going to buy a taser that she can use on me whenever I pull my eyebrow hair or bite my nails. She seems to be on board...

I'm also studying how to design apps for people so I'm combining my own quest to better manage my behavior with my final project in making my own app design. I'm hoping some other apps can help me and my project, two birds kind of thing.

Thanks for any feedback in advance. #firstpost

Hello helloFresco: I'm sorry I don't have the information you're looking for. But I believe this is your first posted thread here on PC. So... I thought I would at least say welcome to Psych Central.

Here's a link to an article, from Psych Central's archives, by our host Dr. John Grohol, Psy.D. on the subject of OCD. The article also provides links to a number of additional articles on the subject:

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

I don't know if any of these will be of any interest to you. But here are links to 6 articles, from Psych Central's archives, on the subjects of using technology to treat OCD & app's for mental health:
