Hello, my OCD has gotten so bad lately that I constantly count, touch, tap, and have intrusive thoughts pretty much all the time, so I’ve been self-medicating with alcohol. I want to get better, and I found an ERP psychologist near me. Can someone please let me know their experiences with ERP?

ERP= Exposure and Response Prevention therapy.

I know you're looking of personal experiences. And I can't offer those. But here are links to 4 articles, from PC's archives, on the subject of ERP:

What Is ERP for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder?

Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for OCD

ERP Therapy: A Good Choice for Treating OCD

Anxiety and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy

ERP (Exposure & Response Prevention) is a type of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) used to treat OCD, and other anxiety disorders.

YouTube - Here's a video that explains the concept well
