If anyone can give me some advice on this, I would really appreciate it. I have been experiencing uncomfortable sensations whenever I see or think about anthropomorphic animals, or furries. These would be movements in my groin, which is always distressing. I avoided furry stuff for a long time, and fought the sensations whenever I did get them, but that just made everything worse. I read that exposure to triggers would allow you to get used to them and get the feelings to stop, so I began exposing myself to furry content. In some ways, it has helped, but it has also at times made my OCD peak. My sensations would turn into feelings of arousal and flood my mind with dirty thoughts, and I would rely heavily on compulsions. I then end up depressed and unmotivated for the entire day or two.

Just to be clear, I have come to appreciate furries. I just want nothing to do with anything sexual. Unfortunately, that kind of content tends to show up because it's the internet, which makes everything worse. I'm now worried that this will never get better, and that the sensations are a part of who I am. Can anyone help me?

Groin movements mean nothing in the context in OCD. But if it helps, you aren't into furry NSFW content. It depends on if you feel attracted to it and it seems you aren't.

Yes, stumbling across that kind of stuff leaves me uncomfortable and ashamed. However, the arousal is still upsetting because it makes me feel like I've failed at being who I want to be. Do you have any tips on how I can make things better?

You are not your feelings. Anyone could have any random feeling of arousal. IT MEANS NOTHING! That’s what I have to tell myself as I struggle with Sexual Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Whatever random weird feeling or arousal I have, if I don’t want that with all of my heart, then it’s not the real me. It’s just my brain playing a trick on me. I hope this helps. Remember, if you don’t *want* this, you don’t have this problem.

I really do appreciate the support, and I'm sorry if I can't let this go. I've been chatting about this with others recently, and some have interpreted this as me being in denial about my desires and that I should just accept it, and I'm worried that they're right. However, I've also been getting groinal responses out of fear from these posts, so it might not be denial.
