By thoughts I mean the violent flashes I get, sometimes thoughts of
Possible trigger:
I kinda don't mind fighting them off as it keeps them away(especially the violent flashes). But i'm tired of my possible OCD falsely convincing me I want to harm my bird or become a sick ****, when I really don't. Same for thoughts of
Possible trigger:
Are these thoughts permanent? I don't want to live with violent flashes or thoughts of children for the rest of my life nor do I wanna be a horrible person... Is there a miracle cure to end any harm or pedo thought I get? I wanna live a normal life... Thank you. Last edited by bluekoi; Apr 24, 2020 at 07:51 PM.. Reason: Apply trigger codes. |

Sorry... no miracle cure I'm aware of. Perhaps other PC members will have some suggestions they can share. As I recall, I believe you are a teen? Assuming that is the case, perhaps a lot of this has as much to do with teenage hormones as it does anything else? And, if that's the case, perhaps what you're struggling with will at least moderate if not disappear as you become an adult? I don't know, it's just a thought. Beyond that, working with a mental health therapist (when you can) may be helpful as well. I know that's problematic for you now. I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time with this. I've had my own struggles with similar types of concerns my entire life. (It's a long story.) So I have at least some small sense of what you're dealing with. Best wishes...

Are these unwanted, inappropriate flashes? There is a cure for them. There’s a book called Overcoming Obsessive Thoughts by David Clark — I got it off Amazon. The book walks you through self-help you can do. It really lays out what OCD is, what the thoughts mean, and how to get rid of them using a method called Exposure-Response Prevention therapy.
