It's been about a yr since I've posted anything, so I'm glad to be back and hopeful for some tips and advice please.

I believe my partner has OCD with insight (according to what I know as a psych nurse) and definitely has trichotillomania, his poor beard has patches everywhere from constant pulling. Any who, he is very resistant to counseling because he doesn't have faith anyone knows how to really help. This has been his experience with medical providers in the past. Now that COVID has hit and is still alive and going strong, he is completely walled off. He can't bring himself to go into a store (did that once and had a panic attack) and hasn't gone into public AT ALL since April. He can't even order through a drive through window, knowing both he and the worker at the window are masked, for fear of getting sick. He's also getting more irritable and consumed by social media and all the politics (election, BLM, etc) that go along with it. I'm getting burned out bc I then do all the shopping and everything that entails dealing with the public and it's making me resentful.

Are there any site, books, support groups for him (or even me) that could shine some insight into what he's dealing with? **I just saw the 'sticky' note above.

The best thing you can do is ERP therapy along with medicines. Talk to your partner and know what are the things that trigger OCD and encourage him to learn about OCD and how to manage it and do ERP therapy.

You can read these blogs to learn some ways to help your partner with OCD

My husband has OCD quite severely. In my experience, many people with OCD also have OC personalities, and are resistent to getting help. If they get help for their illness, to them it feels like giving up control - their worst fear.

OC people are difficult to deal with (to say the least).
