Hi. I have a problem which will seem extremely stupid and fake but:
*I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST OTHER ETHNICITIES AND I RESPECT EVERYONE EQUALLY

Yesterday I saw a Korean man whose lips were somehow darker than usual. They seemed so disgusting to me I almost threw up. I don't know why. Then I went to sleep.
I woke up this morning and several hours later something reminded me of those lips. I then looked at other people's lips and those who had them darker than usual (Asians for example) seemed so disgusting and I almost threw up once again.
Every time something about lips in general came into my mind I almost threw up. I don't know why. I repeat, I don't have anything against other nationalities or ethnicities. In fact, I really love Asian people. I've always had a problem with darker lips but this has become so much worse since yesterday. I couldn't even look at my own lips (I'm white as snow) without feeling a strong feeling of nausea. I've been feeling nauseous since this morning and I don't know how to get rid of my disgust which makes no sense at all.
I can't look at pictures of people as seeing their lips will probably cause me to throw up what I ate years ago. Please help me! This is very serious!

Hello AleksK: I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to Psych Central.

I'm sorry I don't think I would know what to suggest to you with regard to the aversion you have developed. I think this is, perhaps, something you'll need to seek mental health therapy for. I'm not a mental health professional. However there is a type of therapy called Exposure and Response Therapy that may, perhaps, be the type of therapy from which you could benefit. Here are links to 2 articles, from Psych Central's archives, that discuss exposure therapy:

What is Exposure Therapy?

Interoceptive Exposure for Treating Anxiety

Also, family therapist Kati Morton has a video on her YouTube channel on the subject of exposure therapy. Here's a link to that video:

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.
