I just want to draw attention to myself by saying or doing controversial and strange things in public, such as kissing someone of the same sex (it's taboo in my country), or cross-dressing. I enjoy the feeling of being admired, stared at, even judged. It gives me a sense of individuality and satisfaction that can't be compared to anything. I want to shock people! I want them to believe I'm kind of living in my own world with my own rules! I want them to believe I'm anything but "normal": whether it be a hooker, a lesbian or a psychopath etc .
I'm not that kind of person who gets negatively influenced by negative opinions of me. I just want to know if i should be concerned or if it's something teenagers do and it's just a phase. Thank you in advance! Last edited by CANDC; Nov 05, 2019 at 06:47 PM.. Reason: Comment removed |

Well, I definitely think you may want to see a therapist, @YougSun24, as this behavior may escalate and you may end up doing dangerous things and things you'll regret. So yes, definitely get some help if you can. You're not "crazy" AT ALL, but it DOES seem like you're struggling quite a bit! So please, definitely reach out to someone. Do you have a support system IRL? Friends? Family? Teachers? Anyone? Anyone who can help you! Please try to get ALL the help you can get because you NEED IT and DESERVE IT! THAT'S A PROMISE! Feel free to PM me ANYTIME when you need someone to talk to or vent to or when you need advice and support! I am SURE plenty of others will ALSO GLADLY and WONDERFULLY help you out as well if you just ask! Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @YongSun24, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking! I am SO SORRY you're struggling, my dear, sweet friend!

The kind of behavior you are talking about is extreme but not uncommon.

The main problem I see here is escalation into something that ultimately gets you arrested. Then, you have a criminal record, perhaps due to something that may be difficult to explain to the average, conservative Japanese business person. That could make it potentially hard for you to find the job you want.
I've done a fair amount of business in Japan and spent a lot of time in and around Tokyo. I have Japanese friends. Don't want to get into it, but I can tell you for certain, some of the behavior you describe could result in extremely serious charges here in the United States. In fact, there was just a very high-profile case here of someone 15 years old who did one of the things you say you have done. He was prosecuted and convicted. He has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Not a good situation. So, be careful. You're young and in the heart of those years when it seems you are invincible. You aren't. So be careful. __________________ When I was a kid, my parents moved a lot, but I always found them--Rodney Dangerfield |

No, I don't think you should be concerned YongSun24. Teenagers all over the globe act out in these kinds of ways - ways that are trying to send a message saying, "Hey! Look at me you old farts! F*** you and your boring old society!"
It's just an expression of frustration - angst. |
