So I have a girlfriend and she said that her best friend has been put in a room (I’m guessing a hospital or asylum) and the people there are forcing things in to his head, and he has done some bad things in his life, but he’s a good guy, and she said that he’s starting to fade away, like his personality is fading away and he doesn’t really remember her. So I’m just wondering what they are doing to him and why would they do this to him, because she’s hurting because she can’t really do anything to help, and both my psychology teacher and I have told her to try and tell him a memory to try and get him to remember her. If anyone knows then please let me know.

Hello garrett: I'm sorry, personally, I don't think there is enough information here to know what may be going on with your gf's friend. However I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So I thought I would at least welcome you to Psych Central. I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

Maybe if he is on medications the medications could be causing the personality to seem less. Some medications or some medical/psychiatric conditions can cause blunted affect. Not saying that is what is happening, just a thought. I am not a doctor or a psych person, just a plain ordinary person.

Hi garrett1197.

It could be that he's just not feeling too terribly well within himself as well. I mean, he must obviously be struggling at this time in his life. He might be processing a lot of things, and feeling a bit lost, reevaluating everything - detached - or something along those lines. I mean if it was me in the hospital, I wouldn't be the chirpiest person in the world. Do you know what I mean?

Give him some time, don't rush him, and he'll come right.

I am not sure what this may be, @garrett1197, although it DOES seem terrible and I am so sorry for your Girlfriend's Friend! Perhaps you can ask your Girlfriend if She can arrange a visit at the Hospital? Just to make sure hwo things are going, if she hasn't already. I hope your Friend will get out of there soon and that she will feel better REALLY soon! I COMPLETELY agree with all the other wise and wonderful posters that it may be the Meds. It is hard to tell from here though. We are all rooting for all of you! Keep us all updated, ok?! Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @garrett1197, your Family, your Friends, your Girlfriend, your Girlfriend's Friend, your Therapists, your Pdocs, your Nurses, your Social Workers and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK, MY DEAR, SWEET, KIND, AWESOME AND WONDERFUL FRIEND?!
