Well it looks like our lockdown will be to the end of June. Our mayor announced that all public festivals will be cancelled through the end of June. This includes Pride, which is a major event here. I'm not sure how I'm going to last that long.

But the cat is extremely happy. She loves having my room mate home, as he's her primary caregiver and raised her from a kitten. She's spends most of the day on the bed in his room, where he's working. But she still comes out several times a day for snuggles with me, which is extra nice.

June!!! OMG, I thought the end of May was bad enough.

Our governor, Gavin Newsom, said yesterday that his concern is that people will become depressed due to being so isolated. If that happens, Gov Newsom said, he fears that people will relax the shelter in place and start to gather again at each others' houses, etc.

I share that concern. One month is strenuous enough, let alone 2 months.

I heard this will probably go on until the end of June. I'm not sure I can tolerate this lock down for that long, especially with my present living situation. Renting a room in a stranger's house isn't ideal for me. I only rented this room, so I could complete the last two semesters.

I'm desperate for privacy. I really need my own apartment.

I am appreciative of your honesty. And I agree. No one needs to live like this.

China came out of lockdown and too many people flooded the parks. They had to close the parks. The photos were absurd...people packed together like sardines. This could result in a secondary outbreak.

I think it would be wise to ease back into a new normal. I can see myself still practicing social distancing...maybe forever. I used to ride the bus a lot instead of driving because it was very convenient and cheap. But now I see myself biking more...even longer distances. I will probably want to avoid public transportation.

Yes, luckily we are improving a bit since lockdown began. It's hard, but at least it works. Just hope they will at least let us go out a bit and do some normal things next month, even if maybe it's not all over yet and we can't work...but at least to go a bit back to normal.

Thanks to our excellent governor who acted without delay, we're holding our own - at least at this point. People have been following the rules well. I hope and pray that we can lift this imprisonment by mid-May.

What great news! So encouraging! May I ask in which part of the US you're in?

It's a western mountain state. I keep it a secret because I don't really like it here and complain a lot about it. But I love love love the governor and send fan emails to the governor's website. Sorry don't want to identify where I live. It's one of the Four Corners states. (Not California of course but I lived there for 15 years and loved every single day of it.)

The end of June?! That is a really long time. We are looking at the end of April right now. I wonder what will happen at the end of the month. Will masks and contact tracing be good enough to stop it? I thought I stayed at home all the time but I apparently went out more than I realized.

Normally staying home would be just fine for me as I'm an introvert who enjoys solitude. However, I ended up in quarantine at my in-laws place which is super stressful and there's no such thing as solitude here. Also with an underlying condition in the mix, I'm not sure how or when I'm going to be able to get out of this situation.

Well, I can think of a bunch of situations that are a lot worse, so I'm still thankful for the ability to quarantine, but it doesn't really make things any easier to deal with. Solitude is like air to an introvert. It's hard to breathe without it.

Sending a hug to everyone out there who's having a hard time with all this!

So I live alone and am self-isolating alone. I tend to think everyone else has it better. Not so! For instance, I was talking with my son yesterday and things have been getting tense between him and his girlfriend. They are normally work-o-holics with different schedules. Now they are home together all the time. My son is worried about his new business. He just went on his own this year. So he isn't in the best of moods while his girlfriend would like, I think, more interaction, talking, cheerfulness etc. My son is an introvert, works alone, can spend a lot of time alone...while his girlfriend is an extrovert.

None of us have it that easy these days. But on the other hand I am starting to appreciate my solitude a bit more.
