Yeah, so they came and ripped out the wall in my bathroom...and nothing! Now they are going to the apartment upstairs to do the same. That is, rip out their wall. Still gonna have THREE MORE DAYS of people in my apartment...the air conditioner guys still have to come out and look at it...although everything looks fine and no lines punctured...then the dry wall guy has to fix the hole they made in the wall...then the maintenance guys have to come back to paint the wall.

The maintenance guy said the nail did not even go through the wall. So....duh...

They still don't know why the air conditioning in the unit downstairs isn't working.

Well, I am glad someone is making money during this pandemic doing a lot of non-productive stuff.

I'm in a very nice conference room with wifi and a view (more than I can say about my apartment) so I'm happy.

BUT THIS IS A FUN THREAD...LET'S KEEP IT GOING!

So they intend in ripping out walls until they find something? Sounds like dumb and dumber. Why dont they replace the faulty unit and see if that fixes it. I would hate to be paying the repair bills for this. And no it isnt nice having strangers in your own home.

It's central air conditioning so all these lines run through every apartment's walls up to the roof where there is some kind of condenser. Only one unit doesn't have AC...in my place everything works great. So it isn't even my problem. They think a line is broken somewhere along the way. Yeah, so they are just ripping out walls!

They ripped out my wall then today called me and said the air conditioning people can't come out for a week. They have to look at the lines in my place to determine they are okay. The maintenance men already said they were okay...there was no leak or anything. But the air conditioning guys have to investigate it before the hole in the wall is fixed. So I have a plastic bag over an enormous hall in the wall, had to clean up plaster dust, and everything is out of my bathroom.

I have decided am not re-signing my lease...so am busy looking for a new place. If I was staying here I would probably be more upset. Stay in one apartment long enough and something bad happens.

My last apartment had water leaks so bad I had to move my bed out into the living room. They kept giving me "updates" about how they were trying to find the leak. Then lease time came around, the leak hadn't been fixed, and they had the nerve to raise the rent a couple hundred dollars because they said they were going to redo the kitchen (which was absolutely fine as it was) -- so I moved. They were going to have me move to an empty apartment for two months while they redid the kitchen in my place...with all my stuff in it. And paying increased rent. Like WFT!

These two places are advertised as "luxury" complexes and have great curb appeal and look beautiful in photographs. All of it is BS.

Thanks. It is what it is. I was a homeowner (older home) and it had its headaches, too.

The apartment I am in now was brand new when I moved in. I was the first tenant. So that was a thrilling experience as a renter.

Not an apartment but one time when I was 14 I got super enraged and went around a room in my treatment center and was throwing picture frames and other stuff and I think I caused about $100 in damages.

I was such a mess when I was 13-14. I was in so many treatment centers and hospitals. God all those 1 on 1 teacher aids and those ****ing reward programs.
