Is anyone else embarrassed by Kanye West? I have Bipolar 1 and with him saying he's running for president, I find myself to be embarrassed because I feel that he makes anyone with bipolar, or any other mental illness, look bad. Also, the way the media pokes fun at the "crazy" things he says is like mocking mania, which isn't cool in my book.
Am I alone in feeling this way? |

Nothing surprises me anymore. Apparently anyone thinks they can be presidents and clueless people would vote for them. We live in crazy times

I was never much of a fan of his, I don't think I can even name one of his songs (though I've heard them)
I lost all respect when he called their daughter north that poor girl. north west. imagine the bullying she gets at school |

Surface level thinking never brings out the reasons people do things.....gotta look at the big picture of what is going on in the country to realize why he is doing this.
No, he absolutely KNOWS he is NOT Jesus. Gotta listen & understand what he is saying & no he is NOT bipolar. There is a purpose behind what he is doing. __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. We went everywhere together like this. I've heard before that he is bipolar--and his wife now thinks he's manic. But I can't swear to it.
What's he trying to do, Eskie? |

It's a political comment so probably not appropriate here.....but I will just say that I have observed people who run for president & get people backing them then when they withdraw before the election they throw their support to someone & usually their backers go there too. Might make definite since especially if you follow Candice Owen's & know where she is coming from

I just watched part of the video of his recent South Carolina presidential rally speech, and it really did seem like he was having a mental breakdown of sorts. I found it a little embarrassing, I suppose, from the point of view that people would still vote for him regardless, but more concerned for his mental health, his well-being. Poor guy really seems like he's struggling.
He should open an account here. Reach out! |

I am a little embarrassed by him, but a bit more embarrassed about the people "working on his campaign" that are taking it seriously, or as a publicity stunt. Many people know he is a deliberately unmedicated person with bipolar disorder (obviously type 1). I wish he had had enough sense not to stoke the flames, but unfortunately that is not uncommon in people with the disorder. It is really quite similar to drug addiction. His fame and money, and the people around him that try to profit or gain off of it, put him in a particularly bad position. It's very possible that the experience will turn quite sour for him, and he'll not be happy. If so, I hope it serves as a very good lesson for him. Or, perhaps he'll see it as his enablers do, about money and fame. That's yet to be determined. In any case, I have read that his wife (Kim Kardashian) has been trying to get him help. I hope that's so, and not just part of the whole publicity stuff.
Honestly, it's quite disconcerting that a blatantly ill person is trying to run for the highest political position in pretty much the entire world, and anyone taking it seriously. What happened to qualifications for the job? Respect for the people of the United States and the world? Those seem to have been thrown out the window a few years ago. Now it's just one big reality TV show. That's utterly embarrassing and detrimental for all people, though many don't get that. Or perhaps they'll learn the hard hard way, too. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with a person who has a mental illness trying to become president. But they must have the illness well controlled and be qualified for the job. Not properly treating such an illness is a no-go and should be in everyone's book. I can't understand how/why anyone would dare disagree with this. When a person gets sick, they should be treated or even hospitalized, in some cases. They step aside and those that truly care, tell them to. He won't even make it to the election, I don't think. He has zero chance at receiving even one electoral vote. I'm not a fan of the electoral college, but even they wouldn't vote for him. He offers them nothing. Nothing. Chances are, he'll figuratively spontaneously combust by mid August, at the latest. [Kanye, I hope you get past this soon and take the right steps towards recovery. You do have a lot to offer people. Good stuff to offer. I hope you'll offer that. Make music, not noise. Be a positive example, not a negative one. You do have a big audience who could surely benefit from a positive example. Right now (today), you're not doing positive. You want to be a hero? Fight stigma. Don't exacerbate it!] Last edited by Soupe du jour; Jul 21, 2020 at 02:42 PM.. |

Halsey Asks People Not to Joke About Kanye West's Tweets
But the sad part about it is some people take his campaign seriously. Kanye West wants marijuana to be free, and everyone who has a baby to get '''a million dollars''' I've already had babies. Can I get the money? Last edited by Travelinglady; Jul 21, 2020 at 04:33 PM.. |

I am less disgusted with Kanye and more disgusted with the people around him that refuse to get him help.

But sarah, unless he's a danger to himself or to others, they can't really do anything. After all, he is an adult.

I saw news footage this morning of him screaming and sobbing...it was pitiful, and the news media kept saying he was "anxious because of the pandemic." Well, that might be, but what he has going on is a lot more than "anxious."
When I saw him, I thought that he looks like he's in the "cannot care for self" 5150 category. He certainly needs to be IP...he's headed for disaster. __________________ |

I watched a news broadcast last night and his wife has talked about the fact that people ARE seeing his behaviors and they ARE concerned. She mentioned that he is bipolar and lately it's been getting out of control and his mood swings have been going from one extreme to the other. They also showed an interview he had from the past where he was explaining the mania and how it brings on such an incredible high that it's hard not to get swept away by it.
A mania/manic episode can give someone this belief they have "special powers" and are gifted and can "save the world". |

Frankly, he does this right before his new albums "drop." I think he's acting this way to bring attention to his music. While he may be bipolar, you can't really trust that his actions are genuine. I mean, he and Kim K. both created their careers by doing outrageous things to get attention.
What I find hilarious, is that he is not officially on the ballot in north carolina so technically he is NOT really running for president. It was all just a publicity stunt, don't you think? If he really is having a bipolar episode, then his friends who flew out to visit him in Wyoming are just enabling him, like Kim K has been doing for their whole marriage. He needs someone to stand up to him and force him to take medication and force him to do time as an inpatient. |

He probably could ruin their career with one tweet if he wanted. So, that's probably why they're not standing up to him. I mean, who knows why they aren't standing up to him and force him to get on a medication and do time in treatment. His arrogance is astounding. Maybe it's part of his bipolar mood swing, or maybe he is just an arrogant turd all the time.

I wonder too -- that his celeb pals who flew out to Wyoming didn't do so to intervene but more to hang out and party with him. Otherwise, he'd be on a plane to some treatment center and get put on meds which he'd agree legally to stay on. I take everything celebs do in the public eye at face value anyway. He's always annoyed me as I think his music sucks. |
