I have always struggled to deliver a simple explanation (even I understand what I wanted to deliver) or do simple calculations in my mind. I need to do things concretely and I need to see them on paper to have confidence in my thoughts. I know intelligence is a term that covers wide areas and includes many abilities, but it's not a secret that quick understanding and quick precise responses are obvious signs of intelligence that people (including myself) observe, and that's why I feel stupid, and I feel others think I am stupid when dealing with me. I have trouble recollecting things in my mind, and focus, and give intuitive answers.

My intuitive where I struggle is my insecurities. Picking up on others judging or conspiring against me. This usually happends in places that arent so secure like bars and jail. My senses usually pick it up though.

Quick understanding and quick precise responses being obvious signs of intelligence, that people (including me) observe. Yes, I agree. Do you struggle in these ways online also? I'm guessing not. So maybe the main issue is anxiety? I don't know. I personally have experienced a lot of anxiety since early childhood. Just a thought (sorry if its ''too obvious'', I am writing this in a hurry )

I think it's worse in-person, but still I struggle when I am trying to do things alone also. I feel my mind is foggy and blank most if not all the time.

Have you ever been asked if you are on the autism spectrum? Not being "intuitive" can also mean not being able to read social cues or workplace behavior and adjust accordingly. Or if it has been asked, did you ever have any testing to diagnose you as being on the spectrum?

This is a possibility. I haven't been diagnosed, but I usually have hard times reading social cues and don't know how to mingle politely. Out of curiosity I took the screening test here at PsychCentral, and the result showed "possible autism"

What is the autism spectrum and how do you get tested?

I took this test , but of course it's better to seek professional diagnosis Autism / Asperger's Test - 2 Minute Test, Instant Results.

I agree it’s best to get a professional diagnosis - but for what it’s worth, I was diagnosed at 17 and I have a similar issue, in that I find it difficult to arrange the thoughts in my head properly so I can deliver a cohesive “thing”, whatever it is I want to talk about. I feel if I had a better (or even photographic) memory a lot of my problem would be solved.
I often doubt my diagnosis, but I haven’t taken a single online autism test that said it was unlikely I had it. I do know the tests are meant as an indicator tool, though - if you get a high score, it’s probably worth going for an assessment.

I know how you feel, people actually call me stupid. But when questioned about it, they do not know why. Just be yourself, and stay true to who you are.
