Human Rights Day

On December 10th, 1948 the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It declared that the "recognition of the inherent dignity and of the inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world." It could arguably be called the birth of the modern human rights movement.

If you would like to participate in an event near you, see the Amnesty International website at http://www.amnestyusa.org

don't take this politically, ok but I am so proud of what my country and others who have followed the lead, have done to promote human rights around the world! Yes, there is still much to be done.. but when you look at where the free world stepped in and said NO, we will not sanction your doing this! and put the proverbial foot down... I just wish the whole world can at some point go, yeah, that was the way things used to be, but now we're all free.
