Has anyone had any progress from hypnotherapy for depression? I am someone with a very skeptical and stubborn mindset and I am wondering if it would work for me. I have had depression for 7 years now. It is treatment-resistant, which is why I am on antipsychotics.

Dear princehamlet,
I was taught self-hypnosis by a cognitive therapist and it helped me, but I have never sought the help of professional ethical hypnotists. My father once rented offices to those who practiced ethical hypnosis but that is all I know about it. Hopefully those with first-hand experience of hypnosis will see and respond to your post. I'm interested in this myself, but not for depression. I have some negative thought patterns that I'd like to transform into positive affirmations. Plus, my DW has a terrible habit of picking that I'm sure could be reduced with hypnosis.
